Monitoring of operational controls during blasting. **SSOMA ASSISTANT – MINING PROJECT** **Schedule:** 14x7 **Location:** Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine **Work Mode:** On-site at the mine **Job Description** A mining-sector company is seeking an **SSOMA Assistant** for a mining project located at **Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine**. The position targets technical personnel or graduates with experience in safety, occupational health, and environmental management, responsible for providing field support to the SSOMA department, assisting in verifying compliance with safety procedures, and monitoring operational controls during project activities—primarily underground and surface blasting operations. **Main Responsibilities** * Support supervision of compliance with safety, occupational health, and environmental standards in the field. * Verify compliance with safe work procedures during operational activities. * Assist in reviewing continuous IPERC, ATS, PETS, checklists, work permits, and other SSOMA documents. * Conduct safety inspections at work fronts, equipment, tools, vehicles, and operational areas. * Support identification of unsafe acts and conditions. * Monitor observations, corrective actions, and preventive actions. * Participate in safety talks, inductions, training sessions, and operational meetings. * Support physical and digital SSOMA document control for the project. * Record and report incidents, observations, findings, and substandard conditions. * Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports requested by the company or client. * Coordinate with the SSOMA Engineer, Blasting Supervisor, Foreman, and operational staff to ensure implementation of safety controls. * Verify proper use of PPE by personnel. * Support signage, demarcation, and control of work areas. * Comply with the company’s internal procedures and client standards. **Requirements** * Technical diploma, graduate, or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Risk Prevention, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related fields. * Minimum **1 year** of experience as an SSOMA Assistant, Risk Prevention Officer, SSOMA Assistant, or similar role. * Experience in mining projects is desirable. * Experience in blasting activities, high-risk tasks, or underground mining is desirable. * Knowledge of IPERC, ATS, PETS, checklists, inspections, work permits, and SSOMA reporting. * Basic knowledge of mining safety regulations. * Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Ability to work in the field and under pressure. * Availability to work under a **14x7** schedule. * Availability to work at **Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine**. **Working Conditions** * **Work Location:** Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. * **Type of Operation:** Mining project / underground and surface blasting activities. * **Schedule:** 14x7\. * **Project Duration:** 6 months or longer, depending on operational needs. * **Work Mode:** On-site at the mine. * **Meals:** Provided at the mine camp. * **Accommodation:** Provided on-site at the mine. * **Transportation:** Provided between Arequipa – Mine – Arequipa. * **Employment Type:** MYPE regime. **Compensation** Starting from **S/ 2,700\.00**, based on experience and evaluation.
