Job Summary: We are seeking an SSOMA Assistant to provide support in safety, occupational health, and environmental matters for a surface and underground blasting mining project. Key Highlights: 1. Conducting safety inspections and follow-up on controls. **SSOMA ASSISTANT – (SURFACE \- UNDERGROUND BLASTING)** **Work Location:** Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine **Work Schedule:** 14 × 7 **Work Modality:** On-site at the mine **Position Type:** Full-time **Job Description** Corporación Grupo Sur del Perú S.A.C. is seeking an **SSOMA Assistant** to join a surface and underground blasting mining project located at Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. We seek a technician, graduate, or bachelor’s degree holder with experience in safety, occupational health, and environmental management, responsible for supporting the SSOMA Engineer in field activities and project document management. The position will assist in verifying compliance with safety procedures, conducting inspections, and following up on operational controls established by the company and client. Mandatory Requirements * Graduate or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Risk Prevention, Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, or related fields. * Minimum one year of verified experience as an SSOMA Assistant, SSOMA Auxiliary, Risk Preventionist, or in similar roles. * Knowledge of continuous IPERC, ATS, PETS, checklists, inspections, work permits, and SSOMA reports. * Basic knowledge of mining safety regulations. * Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Ability to organize information, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with operational personnel. * Availability to work under a 14 × 7 schedule\. * Availability to work on-site at Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. * Occupational medical fitness compatible with job requirements. **Desirable Experience** * Experience in mining projects or operations. * Experience in underground mining. * Experience providing SSOMA support for blasting activities or high-risk tasks. * Experience in physical and digital document control. **Main Responsibilities** * Provide support to the SSOMA Engineer in field activities and document management. * Assist in verifying compliance with safety, occupational health, and environmental standards. * Verify implementation of safe work procedures during operational activities. * Review continuous IPERC, ATS, PETS, checklists, work permits, and other SSOMA documents. * Conduct safety inspections at work fronts, equipment, tools, units, and operational areas. * Identify and report substandard acts and conditions. * Follow up on observations, corrective actions, and preventive measures. * Participate in safety talks, trainings, inductions, and operational meetings. * Maintain updated physical and digital SSOMA document control for the project. * Record and report incidents, observations, and field findings. * Support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. * Coordinate with the SSOMA Engineer, Blasting Supervisor, Foreman, and operational personnel to ensure compliance with safety controls. * Verify correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE). * Support signage, demarcation, and control of work areas. * Comply with internal company procedures and client-established standards. **Working Conditions** * **Location:** Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. * **Operation:** Mining project involving surface and underground blasting activities. * **Work Schedule:** 14 × 7\. * **Work Modality:** On-site at the mine. * **Food and Accommodation:** Provided at the mining camp. * **Transportation:** Provided on the Arequipa – Mine – Arequipa route.
