Promote a preventive culture in high-risk work. **SSOMA ENGINEER – UNDERGROUND AND SURFACE BLASTING** **Workplace:** Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine **Work Schedule:** 14 × 7 **Modality:** On-site at the mine **Position Type:** Full-time Job Description Corporación Grupo Sur del Perú S.A.C. is seeking an **SSOMA Engineer** to join a project involving explosive loading and blasting in underground and surface mining located at Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. The position targets a professional with proven experience in safety, occupational health, and environmental management in underground operations and blasting activities. The candidate will be responsible for supervising compliance with safety standards, operating procedures, and controls established before, during, and after project activities. **Essential Requirements** * Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields. * Valid professional license and active registration with the relevant professional association. * **More than two years of verifiable experience as an SSOMA Engineer or SSOMA Supervisor, counted from date of professional registration.** * **Proven experience in underground mining and explosive loading and blasting activities.** * Experience supervising high-risk work inside mines. * Knowledge of safety controls related to ventilation, evacuation, gas monitoring, and post-blasting conditions. * Familiarity with current mining safety regulations. * Proficiency in IPERC, PETS, ATS, work permits, checklists, inspections, and SSOMA reporting. * Availability to work under a 14 × 7 schedule\. * Availability to work at Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. **Main Responsibilities** * Supervise compliance with project safety, occupational health, and environmental standards. * Verify implementation of safe work procedures during underground explosive loading and blasting activities. * Monitor safety controls before, during, and after scheduled activities. * Inspect safety conditions in underground operations, access routes, working faces, equipment, tools, and units. * Verify ongoing compliance with IPERC, ATS, PETS, work permits, checklists, and other operational controls. * Verify ventilation, evacuation, and gas control conditions according to established procedures. * Coordinate with the Blasting Supervisor and project managers on implementation of SSOMA controls. * Conduct safety talks, training sessions, internal inductions, and operational meetings. * Track observations, corrective actions, and preventive measures. * Participate in incident investigations and in addressing substandard acts and conditions. * Coordinate with the client on matters related to safety, occupational health, and environmental management. * Prepare daily, weekly, and other SSOMA reports as requested by the company or client. * Promote a preventive culture during execution of high-risk work inside mines. **Working Conditions** * **Location:** Pampa de Cobre Mining Company – Chapi Mine. * **Operation:** Underground mining. * **Work Schedule:** 14 × 7\. * **Meals and Accommodation:** Provided at the mining camp. * **Transportation:** Provided on the Arequipa – Mine – Arequipa route.
