We are currently seeking a **Materials Pathology Specialist** to join the team for a **healthcare project in Lima**. The objective is to lead the assessment of the current condition of concrete and steel, determining their residual capacity and compatibility with reinforcement solutions using scientific and regulatory methods.
1\. Responsibilities and Assignments:
* Design the monitoring plan (destructive and non-destructive) to evaluate carbonation, chloride ion penetration in diamond-core samples, sulfates, and steel quantity.
* Detailed crack mapping per level.
* Crack monitoring results: location, width, and trajectory.
* Analyze laboratory and field test results using applied statistics to establish reliable correlations (SONREB method).
* Record typical pathologies: efflorescence, spalling, honeycombing, and damp areas.
* Collaborate with the structural team in proposing solutions based on materials technology.
* Develop detailed technical specifications for the selected reinforcement alternative.
* Ensure all tests comply with current ASTM and NTP standards.
2\. Requirements and Qualifications:
* Licensed and registered Civil Engineer.
* Minimum 15 years of experience in materials evaluation and structural pathology.
* Expertise in advanced concrete and steel technology.
* Proficiency in reinforcement materials (admixtures, polymers, and high-strength concretes).
* Proficiency in applied statistics for correlations (rebound number, ultrasonic pulse velocity, and compressive strength of diamond-core samples).
* Up-to-date knowledge of standards E.060, NTP 339\.034, 339\.181, 339\.059, ACI 318\-19, ACI 562, ACI 228\.1R, ACI 364\.1R, and ASTM standards (C42, C805, C597\).
* Excellent technical writing skills to support chemical and mechanical diagnostics of concrete.
