Responsibilities **System Design \& Development** * Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and Django REST Framework. * Architect solutions that handle complex integrations across payments, e\-commerce, and logistics platforms. * Define technical direction and contribute to long\-term infrastructure decisions. * Build AI\-powered features and infrastructure from scratch, exploring new capabilities as they emerge. **Quality \& Engineering Excellence** * Champion code quality through comprehensive testing strategies and TDD practices. * Conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring maintainability, security, and performance standards. * Create and maintain technical documentation, including API specs, architectural designs, and decision records. * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, optimizing system performance and reliability. **Collaboration \& Mentorship** * Mentor junior and mid\-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning. * Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into implementable solutions. * Participate in technical discussions, sprint planning, and architecture reviews. * Communicate proactively with the team, providing updates on progress, blockers, and technical considerations. **Deployment \& Operations** * Deploy and manage applications across staging and production environments (AWS). * Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and reliable releases. * Monitor application health, respond to incidents, and drive post\-mortems for continuous improvement. **Experience** 5\+ years in backend development (Senior to Lead level) **Core Stack** Strong proficiency in Python and Django REST Framework (or equivalent: Ruby on Rails, Elixir/Phoenix, Laravel) **Testing** Strong testing mindset with hands\-on TDD experience **Databases** Solid experience with PostgreSQL; familiarity with ORMs and database schema design **Cloud \& Infrastructure** AWS experience (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) **Security** Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices **Full\-Stack Comfort** Ability to work across the stack when needed, with backend as primary focus **System Design** Knowledge of scalability patterns, distributed systems, and API design principles **Version Control** Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflowsProduct \& Business Mindset * Genuine curiosity about how end users experience the systems you build. * Ability to translate design documents and business requirements into actionable technical tasks. * Understanding of the *why* behind features—not just the *how*. * Comfortable working in a product\-oriented environment where business impact matters.
