Description
Job Summary:
Lead the design, construction, and operation of acid mine drainage treatment plants, ensuring physical-chemical parameter control and structural integrity.
Key Highlights:
1. Lead acid mine drainage treatment plant projects.
2. Ensure geosynthetic integrity and quality control.
3. Perform physical-chemical parameter monitoring of water.
Job Objective:
Lead the design, construction, and operation of acid mine drainage treatment plants. Conduct physical-chemical parameter monitoring and ensure structural integrity through geosynthetic quality control to prevent acidic water infiltration into the subsoil.
Main Responsibilities:
\- Construction of acid mine drainage treatment plants.
\- Geosynthetics Management: Supervise laying, anchoring, and thermal fusion of geomembranes (HDPE/LLDPE), geotextiles, and GCL to ensure complete pond impermeability.
\- Quality Assurance (QA): Conduct and validate air channel tests, vacuum tests, and destructive/non-destructive weld testing on geomembranes.
\- Treatment Operations: Monitor physical-chemical parameters of water and ensure neutralization of acidic water within constructed ponds (lime and flocculant dosing).
\- Hydraulic Maintenance: Supervise installation and maintenance of conveyance pipelines (HDPE), submersible electro-pumps, and effluent pumping systems.
\- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure design and construction comply with maximum permissible limits for water treatment.
Requirements:
\- Minimum 4 years’ experience in implementation and operation of acid mine drainage treatment plants.
\- Knowledge of water physical-chemical parameter monitoring and acid water treatment.
\- Familiarity with maximum permissible limits (MPL) applicable to water treatment.
\- Knowledge of soil types and geotechnical studies.
\- Proficiency in international standards from the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) and Peruvian mining environmental regulations.
\- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred), Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel.
Working Conditions:
\- On-site field work in Vilque, Puno, at over 3,900 m above sea level.
\- Immediate availability to start the position.
\- Willingness to travel as required by operational and project needs.
Salary: S/.8,000\.00 \- S/.12,000\.00 per month
