Job Summary: Radiology Technician to perform radiological examinations, prepare patients, operate equipment, and ensure image quality. Key Responsibilities: 1. Perform radiological examinations and ensure the technical quality of images. 2. Operate radiology equipment applying radiation protection and biosafety standards. 3. Support the radiologist physician and guide patients. Responsibilities of the Radiology Technician * Perform radiological examinations as prescribed by physicians (e.g., X-rays, mammography, computed tomography, bone densitometry, among others, depending on the facility’s level). * Properly prepare and position patients for accurate diagnostic imaging. * Verify patient identity and medical order prior to the procedure. * Operate radiology equipment in compliance with radiation protection and biosafety standards. * Apply radiation protection measures for patients, healthcare personnel, and oneself. * Ensure the technical quality of acquired images for reliable diagnosis. * Develop, process, digitize, and archive radiological images (PACS/RIS systems, where applicable). * Inform and guide patients regarding the procedure to be performed, addressing basic questions. * Support the radiologist physician during special or contrast-enhanced procedures, as required. * Record and report performed examinations using established forms. * Maintain radiology equipment in good working condition and report malfunctions or maintenance needs. * Comply with area-specific cleaning, disinfection, and infection control protocols. * Ensure proper use of supplies and materials within the service. * Participate in training sessions, internal audits, and continuous improvement activities. * Comply with current MINSA regulations and radiation safety standards. Administrative responsibilities (complementary) * Manage the radiological examination schedule. * Assist in preparing statistical service reports. * Coordinate with admissions and other departments to ensure timely patient care.
