




**Lead – Civil Engineer** **Location:** Moquegua, Peru **Shifts:** 8 x 6 / 14 x 7 **Contract Type:** Fixed-term – 12 months **Reports to:** Project Manager of the consortium/client **Work Context** This role ensures planning, development, and integration of civil/structural engineering for capital projects in mining/industrial environments, guaranteeing safety, quality, cost, and schedule across all phases (conceptual, basic, detailed, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning). It coordinates interfaces with Mechanical/Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation, Procurement, Construction, SSMA, QA/QC, and Operations, ensuring constructability, maintainability, and structural integrity. **Objective** End-to-end orchestration of the civil/structural discipline: design criteria, geotechnics, surveying, structural design, and civil works—through to IFC, procurement, and construction support—to deliver safe, buildable, and earthquake-resistant solutions. Proactively manage technical risks (geotechnical, seismic, stability, drainage) and contractual risks; enable released work fronts and timely commencement of installations within scope, schedule, budget, and quality. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead and demonstrate commitment to safety policies and procedures. * Participate in safety audits and inspections. * Manage and coordinate assigned tasks, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and technical standards. * Identify opportunities for process and project improvement. * Integrate multidisciplinary interfaces (Civil – ME – E&I – Procurement – Construction – SSMA). * Supervise technical procurement: requisitions, specifications, and shop/site inspections. * Issue weekly/monthly reports (physical progress, KPIs, risks, issues, and required decisions). **Formal Requirements** * Degree in Civil Engineering; valid registration with the Peruvian College of Engineers (CIP). * Valid driver’s license. * Knowledge of Peruvian Technical Standards (NTE E.020, E.030, E.050, E.060, E.090), ACI 318/301/117/350/207, AISC 360/341/358, ASCE 7, AWS D1.1, hydraulics/hydrology, drainage and erosion control, slope stability, and other applicable complementary regulations. **Experience** * Experience in mining or heavy industrial construction. **Specific Knowledge** Capability to: * Define design criteria, size equipment, and approve detailed engineering. * Plan and manage manpower, schedules, and S-curves for the discipline. * Understand maintenance and/or operations in the mining industry. * Define civil/structural design bases and criteria (loads, seismic, wind, temperature, equipment-induced vibrations). * Plan and supervise surveying and geotechnical campaigns, earthworks, and slope stabilization. * Design and/or approve platforms, shallow/deep foundations, pipe racks, and industrial buildings. * Design stormwater/industrial drainage, erosion control, and geosynthetics. * Review and approve calculation reports, structural models (SAP2000/ETABS/STAAD), drawings, and MTO/MTR. * Define anchor/base plate details, equipment vibration design, and fatigue verification. * Integrate multidisciplinary interfaces (Civil – ME – E&I – Procurement – Construction – SSMA). * Ensure constructability: concrete pour sequences, formwork/shoring, access, lifting operations. * Supervise technical procurement: requisitions, specifications; shop and site inspections. * Lead civil QA/QC: Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), concrete and structural welding control. **Social Process Skills** * Implement change management plans. * Evaluate information to make sound decisions, manage risks, and drive long-term safe, reliable, and sustainable operations. * Facilitate agreements and cooperation with a diplomatic and open-minded approach. * Work effectively in diverse teams with sensitivity to local social, political, and cultural realities. **We value local talent** Job Type: Full-time Application Question(s): * Do you currently reside in Moquegua or nearby areas?
