Position Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Manager to design, implement, and maintain quality and food safety systems, lead teams, and manage audits within the food industry—particularly dairy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead food quality and safety management systems.
2. Manage audits and corrective actions.
3. Develop and lead the Quality team.
We are currently searching for top talent to fill the position of **QUALITY MANAGER** in Arequipa.
**Requirements**
* Graduate in Food Industrial Engineering, Agroindustrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
* Must be registered with the professional association and legally authorized to practice.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar Quality roles, and at least 3 years in dairy product companies.
* Prior experience in food industry companies is mandatory (non-negotiable).
* Extensive experience and knowledge of marketing strategies, channel management, and brand positioning.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Intermediate level.
**Responsibilities**
* Design, implement, and maintain the Quality and Food Safety Management System (GMP, SSOP, HACCP, traceability, document control).
* Ensure change control, document validity, and record-keeping discipline at the plant.
* Lead the HACCP team and maintain an up-to-date hazard analysis and control plan (OPRP/CCP).
* Define critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, verification, and validation.
* Review the HACCP plan following process/equipment changes, deviations, customer complaints, or microbiological trends.
* Supervise critical control points: raw milk reception, pasteurization, cheese manufacturing, fermentation, packaging, and cold chain.
* Establish and apply acceptance criteria for raw milk, ingredients, packaging materials, and CIP chemicals.
* Approve batch release based on compliance with specifications and analytical results.
* Define the master sampling plan (raw materials, in-process, environment, water, surfaces, and finished products).
* Manage internal and/or third-party laboratory analyses; evaluate trends and execute preventive actions.
* Ensure calibration/verification activities, metrological control, and technical competence of the laboratory.
* Plan and conduct internal audits; prepare for and host DIGESA, customer, and third-party audits.
* Manage CAPA plans post-audit—including responsible parties, timelines, evidence, and effectiveness verification.
* Manage non-conformities, returns, and customer complaints; perform root cause analysis.
* Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness.
* Lead food safety incident investigations and mock recall/withdrawal drills.
* Qualify and evaluate suppliers (milk, cultures, rennet, salts, packaging, chemicals) against quality criteria.
* Approve technical specifications and certificates; manage supplier deviations.
* Lead and develop the Quality team (onboarding, training, performance evaluation, cross-training).
* Promote food safety culture: SSOP discipline, communication, order, and authority to “stop the line” when necessary.
* Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Logistics to ensure sanitary conditions, calibrations, storage, and dispatch.
