Miners of Peru (OPEMIP) is a fully Peruvian company with over 20 years of experience, dedicated to construction and maintenance services for infrastructure projects in both the mining and civil construction sectors. We are currently seeking a **Resident Construction Engineer**.
**Job Description:**
Responsible for project planning, administration, and execution control. Will actively coordinate with other departments (safety, quality, technical office, administration) to ensure timely project delivery, cost-effective execution generating profitability, compliance with project drawings and technical specifications, and adherence to client standards and requirements. As the primary operational-level responsible party, oversees project execution, resource management, and staff leadership to achieve project objectives.
**Academic Qualifications:**
* Professional Degree in Civil Engineering
* Valid professional registration (Colegiatura) with minimum 5 years of seniority
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with maximum 3 years of validity (preferred)
* Basic English proficiency (technical English)
**Professional Experience:**
* General Experience: 14 years in construction projects
* Specific Experience: 8 years as Resident Construction Engineer
* Relevant Experience: 4 years in civil works projects within the mining sector
**Core Competencies:**
* Project Management Methodologies: Lean philosophy, Scrum, Fast Track, Agile, Kanban
* General knowledge of mining construction works
* Leadership capability and soft skills (certification preferred)
* Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment (SSO) practices in mining and industry (minimum 30 hours of training)
**Tools / Software:**
* Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD / CivilCAD
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
* Proficiency in S10, PowerCost, Primavera P6, and MS Project
* Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics (CV, SV, CPI, SPI)
* Proficiency in 3WLA scheduling methodology
Job Responsibilities:
* Attend meetings with the client
* Comprehensive project review (compatibility assessment)
* Operational project leadership, daily staff meetings
* Active coordination with SSO, QA/QC, Technical Office (OT), and Administration departments
* Project resource requisition
* Ensure internal operational control (physical and administrative) of equipment
* Development of the final work plan and its modifications
* Development of final PETS procedures and their modifications
* Management of required documentation (permits, authorizations, etc.)
* Validation of project RFI’s, valuations, EDPs, schedules, etc.
* Provision of physical progress updates to the Technical Office (OT)
* Leadership in preparation of weekly and monthly reports
* Management of material advance and direct advance files
* Weekly validation of Look Ahead planning (3WLA)
* Validation of Earned Value analysis (weekly internal reports)
* Time and budget control (coordination with Technical Office)
* Intermittent field supervision of activities
* Overall operational responsibility (operational level)
* Periodic reporting to Project Management on progress.
