Job Summary: Mechanical Technician with experience in repair and maintenance of Caterpillar and Komatsu heavy machinery, focused on evaluations, diagnostics, and use of specialized tools. Key Highlights: 1. Repair of heavy machinery components (Caterpillar and Komatsu) 2. Evaluation and analysis of mechanical components 3. Use of measuring tools and welding equipment **FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** * a. Perform optimal repairs of components such as brakes, wheels, final drives, and suspensions for Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment. * b. Carry out major component repairs under the supervision of a lead technician (T1\). * c. Evaluate internal parts of components and determine reusability. * d. Correct use of lifting equipment and repair manuals. * e. Inspection of components prior to disassembly. * f. Proper preparation of components. * g. Use of tools and lifting equipment. * h. Assembly of brakes and wheels with minor support from the lead technician. * i. Use of internal micrometers, external micrometers, depth gauges, and related equipment. * j. Correct assembly of components. * k. Proper use of measurement, adjustment, and inspection instruments. * l. Apply basic knowledge of reusability, inspection, and failure analysis for gears, discs, brake plates, etc. * m. Correct use of electric welding and oxy-acetylene cutting equipment. * n. Prepare evaluation reports, repair reports, and technical reports. * o. Place correct spare parts orders. * p. Identify internal parts for replacement. * q. Interpret third-party reports, metallized work reports, etc. * r. Lead small work teams. * s. Report workplace accidents. * t. Operate mobile equipment (forklifts). * u. Perform metrology. **EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**: * EXPERIENCE: 3 years in similar positions * Technical training in Maintenance Mechanics, Heavy Machinery Maintenance, or related fields. * Studies completed at a Technological Higher Institute or recognized technical institution. * Technical certifications related to equipment maintenance are desirable. * Training in occupational safety and health—especially for mining or industrial operations—is desirable. **TOOLS:** * **Microsoft Excel** \-\-\-\- Basic – Intermediate * **Microsoft Word** \-\-\-\- Basic * **Microsoft Outlook / email** \-\-\-\- Basic * **Microsoft Teams** \-\-\-\-\- Basic * **Information recording and control \-\-\-\- Intermediate** * Basic Excel formulas \-\-\-\-\- Basic – Intermediate * Creation of tables and reports \-\-\-\-\- Basic – Intermediate * Data filtering, sorting, and formatting. \-\-\-\-\- Intermediate Salary: Between S/. 3000 and S/. 3500 per month, depending on experience, knowledge, and interview. Paid via formal payroll (fixed-term contract) with all statutory benefits. Subsidized lunch. Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM; overtime applies on other days.
