Wood is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join Wood’s Engineering team within its Minerals & Metals Services business unit. This opportunity is available for Peru. Experience is required in vendor engineering review and permanent fieldwork. An Electrical Engineer with experience in reviewing engineering drawings and documents, medium- and low-voltage systems—including protection, control, measurement, and SCADA devices—open-pit mining, mineral processing plants and equipment, engineering and construction projects, and interdisciplinary coordination. **Our Clients and Projects** **Designing the future. At Wood, we play our part by supporting our global clients with advanced facilities and predictable, safe, and rapid project delivery worldwide while striving for net zero. **What We Can Offer** * **Significant and interesting projects** delivered to industry leaders across the Minerals and Metals sectors. * **Flexible work arrangements** that balance client, team, and individual needs. * **Commitment to diversity and inclusion** across our entire organization, with employee networks dedicated to giving voice to all employees. * **Flexible benefits package**, customizable to your lifestyle. * **Commitment to continuous professional development**, through personalized development plans aligned with individual needs and interests. * **Global connections with leading industry experts** worldwide who are shaping the standards of our profession. * **Execute electrical systems engineering** across conceptual, basic, and detailed design phases, ensuring correct application of technical criteria and project specifications. * **Develop engineering deliverables** associated with industrial plants and electrical substations, meeting deadlines, standards, and internal procedures. * **Prepare electrical diagrams**, including single-line diagrams, control schematics, and medium- and low-voltage interconnection diagrams, ensuring documentation accuracy and consistency. * **Use MS Office proficiently** for preparing reports, calculation memoranda, technical bases, and supporting project documentation. * **Apply ETAP software proficiently** to conduct electrical studies such as: + Protection coordination + Short-circuit studies + Grounding grid design and analysis * **Comply with and apply applicable national and international technical standards and regulations** for the electrical discipline. * **Collaborate actively with the multidisciplinary team**, contributing technical solutions and ensuring proper coordination with other project disciplines. * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution, or officially validated as such in Peru. * Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in developing substation and electrical distribution and control system projects at mining and/or industrial facilities, preferably in mining project environments, with demonstrable competencies matching those required for this role. * Experience in industrial projects at mineral beneficiation plants, including development and review of drawings and documents during conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering phases, for underground and/or open-pit mining and mineral processing plants and equipment. * Experience in substation and electrical distribution projects in underground and open-pit mines. * Experience working within engineering project development frameworks, preferably with project management experience in BIM environments. **Specific experience in:** * Electrical systems studies using computational tools, primarily ETAP. * Definition of substation and equipment topology and operational and switching capacity. * Definition of protection schemes for HT, MV, and LV systems. * Definition and design of earthing systems. * Calculation and design of industrial and mining lighting systems. * Knowledge of commercially available HT, MV, and LV equipment. * Knowledge of commercially available protection, control, measurement, and SCADA devices. * In-depth knowledge of applicable national and international standards. * Knowledge of control systems and industrial communication networks. * Familiarity with engineering development procedures.
