Job Summary: Execute and coordinate improvement projects in operations and develop simulation models to optimize production and minimize costs. Key Highlights: 1. Leads continuous improvement projects in mining operations. 2. Develops advanced simulation tools and models. 3. Optimizes production and reduces operational costs. **JOB MISSION:** Execute required activities for improvement projects aimed at cross-functional optimization of operations and develop phenomenological / stochastic simulation tools/models, coordinating with key stakeholders from the Production Directorate to ensure operationalization of improvement projects focused on maximizing production and minimizing unit cost. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Execute required activities for improvement projects (Opex and Capex) aimed at cross-functional optimization of operations using continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma and others), coordinating with key involved departments. * Develop phenomenological / stochastic modeling and simulation tools, monitoring the performance of implemented solutions. * Identify processes with high variability using continuous improvement techniques (Six Sigma), developing recommendations on operating conditions for cross-functional optimization of operations. * Develop phenomenological / stochastic optimization models for processes based on key drivers controlling financial management, generating reports and action plans. * Develop standards according to Production Directorate guidelines for cross-functional operational modeling strategies, aligned with industry best practices. * Monitor implementation of improvement actions regarding the quality of operational strategies across different stages of the production process. In 2007, Aluminum Corporation of China (CHINALCO) established Minera Chinalco Perú S.A. (Chinalco Perú) to construct, develop, and operate the Toromocho copper mega-project. Toromocho Mining Unit has been the first world-class copper mine executed and developed end-to-end overseas by a Chinese company. It is located in the district of Morococha, province of Yauli, department of Junín, at over 4,500 meters above sea level. It operates a concentrator plant processing approximately 117,200 tons of ore per day. Today, Chinalco Perú is one of the most important companies within China Copper and CHINALCO’s largest wholly-owned foreign subsidiary.
