**BACKGROUND** **Solidaridad** is an international organisation with over 50 years of experience in developing sustainable and inclusive value chains for various *commodities*, placing small-scale producers at the centre. Solidaridad operates in more than 40 countries worldwide and seeks to transform production practices across multiple sectors, enabling small-scale producers to access fair and profitable livelihoods and business opportunities. Since 2025, Solidaridad—through a partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH—has been implementing the **“Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems” (SAFE)** project, delivering training and technical assistance to producers and organisations along the coffee and cocoa value chains in the regions of Ucayali, Huánuco, Pasco and Junín. The project aims to strengthen the enterprise and operational management capacities of exporting cooperatives, supporting the transition of enterprises and small-scale producers towards compliance with the *European Union Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products* (EU Deforestation Regulation – EUDR), as well as reducing risks associated with volatility in coffee and cocoa export markets. Given that **SOLIDARIDAD** must deliver the services described above, it is necessary to temporarily hire qualified personnel with experience in monitoring and technical assistance for project implementation. This staff will support the fulfilment of commitments outlined in the projects’ Annual Operational Plans, both technically and financially, as well as all aspects related to the services required by the Project, ensuring proper delivery. Within this context, personnel are required to fill the position of **Technical Coordinator for Coffee and Cocoa SAFE**. **POSITION DESCRIPTION** * **Area:** Coffee Programme * **Position Objective:** The Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and providing technical assistance during the implementation of the SAFE project in the regions of Huánuco, Ucayali, Junín and Pasco, supporting compliance with the commitments established in the projects’ Annual Operational Plans, both technically and financially. **FUNCTIONS** * Achieve the technical targets planned under the SAFE project, according to the assigned scope of intervention. * Collect field information at project intervention sites, including data on producers, cocoa producer organisations, cocoa enterprises, existing projects and specialised technicians, to serve as input for developing the stakeholder map, baseline study and project planning tools. * Deliver trainings on topics included in the SAFE project’s technical package assigned to the incumbent, with a focus on Climate-Smart Coffee and Cocoa (CSC). This includes training facilitators on Solidaridad’s Inclusive Technical Assistance methodology; accompanying replication sessions targeted at CSC facilitators; and applying the GALS methodology (gender approach) with producers, facilitators and other technical staff from beneficiary cooperatives and enterprises. Trainings will be delivered both in person and virtually, using tools such as the Cultívate platform and the WhatsApp chatbot. * Implement agroforestry systems and good agricultural practices on demonstration plots for coffee and cocoa, applying climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture and circular economy approaches. * Train and provide follow-up support to the technical teams of beneficiary cooperatives, aligned with the topics planned within their assigned work scopes. * Train and implement good practices in crop planning and planting, agroforestry systems, fertilisation, soil conservation, harvesting and post-harvest handling, income diversification and food security, promoted through bio-gardens. Likewise, strengthen producers’ knowledge regarding land-use rights and access to financing. * Support the systematic documentation of project learning, considering the three dimensions of sustainability: social, economic and financial. * Plan and submit weekly reports on technical assistance activities carried out, via electronic reports addressed to the project’s coffee and cocoa coordinators. * Develop support materials facilitating access to sustainable coffee and cocoa production, as well as guidelines for meeting the due diligence and zero-deforestation requirements set forth by the EUDR. * Ensure appropriate use of equipment, tools, mobility resources and materials provided by SOLIDARIDAD to perform duties. * Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by SOLIDARIDAD, consistent with the position and project objectives. **POSITION PROFILE (REQUIREMENTS)** **Work Experience:** * Professional with more than three (3) years of experience delivering environmental technical advisory services, including integrated management of coffee and cocoa crops within the project’s intervention area. * Experience managing international cooperation projects, both technically and administratively. * Experience strengthening the technical, productive and environmental conservation capacities of coffee and cocoa producers. * Experience developing innovative associative strategies for sustainable agroforestry production of coffee and cocoa. * Experience in sustainable and inclusive management of coffee and cocoa crops and forest ecosystems. * Experience building capacities and developing tools required to comply with the EUDR (zero deforestation) and to export to the European Union. **Academic Qualifications, Degree and/or Level of Education:** * Professional with academic training in Agronomy, Environmental Engineering, Forestry Engineering or related fields, as required by the project. * Preferably with specialisation and knowledge in environmental conservation practices, circular economy, agroforestry systems, regenerative agriculture and integrated productive management, applicable to both organic and conventional coffee and cocoa systems. **Knowledge Required for the Position:** * Proficiency in MS Office. **Skills and Competencies:** * Proactivity, organisational ability, flexibility and capacity for consensus-building. * Willingness to travel within the project’s intervention area. * Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. * Results- and objective-oriented mindset. * Strong communication, coordination and inter-institutional articulation skills. * Written and oral communication skills, with aptitude for drafting technical reports. **EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS** * Work Location: Junín * Modality and Working Hours: In-person, Monday to Friday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturdays until noon * Contract Type: Fixed-term contract, payroll-based * Immediate availability. * Gross monthly remuneration of S/. 3,500.00 **HOW TO APPLY?** If you are interested in joining this exciting project, please send your CV to **rrhhperu@solidaridadnetwork.org**, with the subject line **VACANCY – Technical Coordinator for Cocoa and Coffee**, including a motivation letter explaining why you believe you are the best candidate for this position.
