Position Summary:
Plan, manage, and control the execution of drilling and blasting activities to obtain material, meeting requirements and cost targets with zero accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manages and controls the daily, weekly, and monthly Drilling and Blasting plans.
2. Prepares and controls short-, medium-, and long-term operational budgets.
3. Leads improvement projects in the Drilling and Blasting area.
**POSITION MISSION:** Plan, manage, and control the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly Drilling and Blasting plans to produce broken material for loading equipment, meeting crushing and dump requirements, planned costs, and zero accidents.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Manage and control the execution of the daily, weekly, and monthly Drilling & Blasting (D&B) plans.
* Coordinate the supply of MCP resources (materials, equipment, support personnel) for drilling and blasting execution.
* Coordinate maintenance of drill rigs and blasting support equipment.
* Coordinate availability of contractor equipment and personnel for blasting execution.
* Prepare, control, and monitor short-, medium-, and long-term operational budgets.
* Manage preparation of weekly and monthly D&B plans.
* Prepare monthly reports and reports requested by Mine Operations Superintendent and Management.
* Manage and control improvement projects in the Drilling and Blasting area.
* Manage activities related to D&B design and preparation as required by the plant area.
* Manage proposals for alternative measures to control blasts conducted near infrastructure or facilities located within 100 meters, including necessary safety actions.
In 2007, Aluminum Corporation of China (CHINALCO) established Minera Chinalco Perú S.A. (Chinalco Perú) to construct, develop, and operate the Toromocho copper mega-project.
The Toromocho Mining Unit has been the first world-class copper mine fully executed and developed from inception overseas by a Chinese enterprise. It is located in the district of Morococha, province of Yauli, department of Junín, at over 4,500 meters above sea level.
It operates a concentrator plant processing approximately 117,200 tons of ore per day.
Today, Chinalco Perú is one of the most important companies within China Copper and the largest wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of CHINALCO.
Requirements
**1\.\- Education:** MINING ENGINEERING
**2\.\- Experience:** 10 years overall, 8 years in the mining sector, 5 years in this position
**3\.\- Technical Tools:** MINING, GEOLOGY, AND PLANNING COMPUTER TOOLS (Intermediate), EXCEL (Intermediate)
**4\.\- Licenses:** Degree holder, registered professional engineer, and licensed to practice; Class A1 Driver's License
**KNOWLEDGE:**
* Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations for mining applied to Drilling and Blasting
* Management of drill steel
* Management of drilling equipment (rotary, DTH, and electric)
* Electrical cable routing and power distribution
* Drilling parameters by rock type
* Power factor design by rock type
* Wall protection design for drilling and blasting activities
* Blasting and fragmentation design and simulation of drilling and blasting (e.g., JK Simblast or others)
* Blasting sequence
* Types of explosives and their resistance across different rock types
