Position Summary:
Lead process planning for tailings disposal and clarified water supply, ensuring efficient operation of the Tailings Dam and maximizing the utilization of thickeners and Geho pumps.

**POSITION MISSION:** Lead the planning of processes for disposal of thickened tailings at the Tailings Dam and supply of clarified water to the processing plant, to ensure efficient operation of the Tailings Dam, as well as maximize utilization of tailings thickeners and Geho pumps.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Develop daily, weekly, and monthly Tailings Disposal Plans for the Tailings Dam, coordinating with construction and geotechnical departments regarding work at the Tailings Dam.
* Direct assigned work teams to ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and procedural requirements to prevent contamination risks and ensure proper clarified water supply.
* Plan daily control of water storage and recovery from the Tailings Dam, seepage flow monitoring, and review of daily reports.
* Develop plans to comply with the Tailings Dam Operations and Surveillance Manual.
* Prepare tailings sampling plans considering solids content (%), tailings quality, and review generated reports.
* Plan tailings and clarified water disposal, maintaining safety and environmental control, and reviewing the Bathymetric Report for the Tailings Dam in coordination with the work team (Surveyors, Geotechnical Engineers, Quarry, Contractors related to the Tailings Dam).
* Coordinate with the Department Head when changing the tailings disposal zone.
* Supervise and control rheological parameters of thickened tailings and associated thickening operations.
* Supervise the operation and utilization of tailings thickeners and Geho pumps, adhering to the operational strategy received from the technical department per shift.
* Diagnose and implement risk mitigation actions affecting operational continuity arising from processes/equipment in tailings thickener and Geho pump areas.
* Coordinate with the Instrumentation Engineer on activities required per international standards outlined in CDA guidelines for safe Tailings Dam operation.
* Manage specialized services required at the Tailings Dam.
In 2007, Aluminum Corporation of China (CHINALCO) established Minera Chinalco Perú S.A. (Chinalco Perú) to construct, develop, and operate the Toromocho copper megaproject.
The Toromocho Mining Unit has been the first world-class copper mine fully executed and developed from inception overseas by a Chinese enterprise. It is located in the district of Morococha, province of Yauli, department of Junín, at over 4,500 meters above sea level.
It features a concentrator plant processing approximately 117,200 tonnes of ore per day.
Today, Chinalco Perú is one of the most important companies within China Copper and the largest wholly-owned foreign subsidiary of CHINALCO.
Requirements
**1\.\- Degrees:** METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING, GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING, MINING ENGINEERING, CIVIL ENGINEERING
**2\.\- Experience:** 8 years overall, 5 years in the sector, 3 years in the position
**3\.\- Technical Tools:** EXCEL (Intermediate), PI PROCESS BOOK (Basic)
**4\.\- Certifications:** Advanced Geotechnical Course for Tailings Dams, Tailings Processing and Disposal Course
**5\.\- Licenses:** Degree holder, professionally licensed and authorized, Tailings Dam Operation experience, Driver’s License A\-1, Experience in tailings transportation and handling via pumping, Tailings Dam construction experience
