Job Summary: The Backend Semi-Senior is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic, databases, and APIs to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable application operation. Implementation of complex features and performance optimization. **BACKEND SEMI-SENIOR** **DESCRIPTION:** The Backend Semi-Senior is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining server-side logic, databases, and APIs to ensure efficient, secure, and scalable application operation. This role includes implementing complex features, optimizing performance, and resolving production issues. Additionally, the Backend Senior mentors junior developers, collaborates with other teams, and documents technical decisions. **1\. Education:** Technical or university graduate in Systems Engineering or related field. **2\. Experience:** 2–4 years of experience in this role. **3\. Age:** Between 24 and 38 years old. **PERSONAL COMPETENCIES (SOFT SKILLS):** * Teamwork * Time management * Effective communication * Problem solving * Adaptability * Results orientation * Collaboration **TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (HARD SKILLS):** * Solid knowledge of web application backend development. * Advanced Node.js knowledge. * TypeScript knowledge. * Basic MongoDB knowledge. * MySQL knowledge. * AWS knowledge. * Strong expertise in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful services. * Knowledge of service/API authentication/authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, Cognito, IAM). * Proficiency in Git. * Knowledge of best practices: Design patterns, Clean Code, SOLID principles, etc. * Knowledge of the Serverless.js framework. **MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Define software architecture and make design decisions that ensure system scalability, security, and efficiency. * Write and maintain backend code, ensuring it is clean, efficient, and well-documented. * Design, develop, and maintain APIs for frontend-backend communication and integration with external services. * Design and optimize databases, including writing complex queries, indexes, stored procedures, and ensuring data integrity. * Implement backend security measures to protect data and ensure user privacy. * Identify and resolve performance issues by optimizing code and database queries. * Conduct unit, integration, and functional testing, as well as debugging and resolving code errors. * Write and maintain system technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and usage guides. * Guide and support junior and mid-level developers by providing code reviews and sharing best practices. * Configure and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to ensure fast and reliable deployments. * Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and trends, adopting those that can improve the system or development processes. * Participate in project planning and management, estimating development timelines and ensuring deadlines are met. * Plan and execute strategies to ensure the system scales appropriately with business growth and remains operational over time. **BENEFITS** * Formal employment registration * Comprehensive health insurance * 15 days of vacation * Statutory life insurance * Positive work environment * Access to online courses * Training programs * Professional growth Employment type: Full-time Salary: S/.2,500.00 – S/.4,000.00 per month Work format: Hybrid Schedule: On-site: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9 AM–7 PM / Remote: Tuesday and Thursday, 9 AM–7 PM, and Saturdays, 9 AM–12 PM Work location: Santiago de Surco Employment type: Full-time Salary: S/.2,500.00 – S/.4,000.00 per month Work location: Regular travel required
