I) Job Description: We are seeking an Operations Manager with solid experience in land transportation of hazardous materials (MATPEL) and regulated chemical supplies for the large-scale mining sector. The primary mission will be to lead, plan, and supervise fleet operations, ensuring compliance with route plans, optimization of operational costs, occupational health and safety standards, and agreed service levels with the mining client. II) Requirements and Candidate Profile: A) Education: Graduate in Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. B) Minimum Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience as Operations Manager, Senior Coordinator, or General Supervisor in heavy cargo transportation companies, with mandatory experience in MATPEL (liquids, reagents, explosives, or fuels) for the mining sector. C) Specific Required Knowledge: Current legal regulations on transportation and MTC regulations for hazardous materials. Fleet management: preventive maintenance, tire control, and fuel optimization. Solid knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Proficiency in GPS monitoring and fatigue/sleepiness control tools. D) Technical Skills: Proficiency in operational performance indicators (KPIs) and intermediate-to-advanced Excel. E) Soft Skills: Situational leadership, decision-making under pressure, strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities (essential for interactions with drivers and communities in areas of influence). F) Others: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to mining camps. III) Main Responsibilities: A) Operational Planning and Control: Schedule and dispatch transport units according to requests from mining units, ensuring adherence to delivery time windows. B) Cost and Indicator Management: Monitor the assigned operational budget (fuel, allowances, minor maintenance, tolls) and report monthly KPIs to Management. C) Safety and Compliance (MATPEL): Ensure strict compliance of vehicles, drivers, and route sheets with contingency plans, safety checklists, and required certifications prior to each service. D) Talent Management (Drivers): Supervise driver team performance, coordinate rest schedules, conduct periodic training, and ensure an optimal work environment focused on zero fatigue. E) Mining Client Service: Participate in operational coordination meetings with logistics and safety supervisors of mining contractors, document observations, and ensure account retention.
