




**Job Description: Second Cook** The Second Cook is responsible for directly supporting the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager in food preparation, cooking, and plating. Their role is essential to ensuring food quality, hygiene, and uninterrupted kitchen service. **Main Responsibilities:** * Assist in food preparation according to company recipes and standards. * Supervise designated kitchen areas as assigned by the Kitchen Manager. * Ensure ingredients are properly stored, labeled, and in good condition. * Verify cleanliness, order, and disinfection of the work area before, during, and after service. * Comply with food safety protocols and hygiene standards. * Substitute for the Head Chef when necessary in their absence. * Coordinate and support auxiliary kitchen staff. * Monitor proper use of supplies to prevent waste. * Check correct plating of dishes before they are served. **Requirements:** * Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in similar positions. * Knowledge of food handling and good culinary practices. * Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team. * Punctuality, responsibility, and attention to detail. * Availability to work rotating shifts.
