**Role Summary:** Set up and operate various machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Includes precision instrument makers who manufacture, modify or repair mechanical instruments. They may also fabricate and modify parts to manufacture or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machinery, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, design and machining procedures. **Responsibilities:** * Operate basic equipment and machines and perform routine tasks. * Carry out operational tasks following established processes. * Assist in maintaining and repairing equipment by performing preparations and providing support. * Follow mandatory basic work instructions to safeguard the environment and personal and others' well-being. * Follow a simple mandatory procedure to ensure work is performed according to required quality standards and/or to ensure compliance with external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct. * Interpret and use precision measuring equipment/instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators and depth gauges. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances. * Exchange information with people through courteous interactions. * Work with guidance to understand policies and procedures while ensuring they align with organizational strategies and objectives. * Other assigned tasks. **Requirements:** * Use clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions. * Work with guidance to plan, organize and prioritize activities to effectively meet business objectives. * Apply fundamental concepts to manage and implement safe working systems. * Experience in machining within a manufacturing or repair environment operating vertical, horizontal, manual lathes, milling machines or lathe/milling combinations. * Diploma or technician degree in Industrial Mechanics and 3\-5 years of relevant experience.
