**Occupational Physician** A mining-sector company is seeking an **Occupational Physician** to join its mining operation. We seek a professional committed to protecting workers’ health, regulatory compliance, and comprehensive occupational health management at the mine and processing plant. **Position Objective** To protect, promote, and maintain workers’ **physical and mental health** in relation to their job positions, ensuring compliance with current legal regulations on **Occupational Health**. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead the **Occupational Health and Hygiene** team at the mine and processing plant sites. * Manage the implementation of **Occupational Medical Examinations (OME)**—including pre-employment, periodic, exit, post-incapacity, and position-change examinations—and issue occupational fitness certificates. * Verify contractors’ occupational physicians’ compliance with OME management requirements. * Supervise audits of occupational medical records from provider clinics. * Design, implement, and execute **occupational medical surveillance and hygiene programs**, coordinated with the Safety Department. * Administer the **medical records system**, ensuring confidentiality and proper handling of information. * Develop and deliver **health promotion programs** (e.g., nutrition, active breaks, stress management, prevention of chronic diseases). * Administer the company’s **on-site medical service**, providing primary and emergency care during working hours. * Develop and implement **medical emergency contingency and response plans**. * Lead **immunization campaigns**, aligned with exposure risks and current regulations. * Participate in the health component of the **IPERC** (Identification of Hazards and Risk Assessment), proposing control measures. * Investigate, analyze, and follow up on **occupational accidents and diseases**, recommending corrective actions. * Implement the **occupational epidemiological surveillance system**. * Advise on **ergonomics and workplace adaptation**. * Ensure compliance with national and international occupational health regulations. * Draft, review, and update the company’s **occupational health standards**. * Prepare and submit **weekly and monthly reports** to the SSOMA Management. * Prepare technical reports for **regulatory authorities** and senior management. * Participate in **CSST** meetings, managerial inspections, and SG-SST audits. * Supervise contracts and performance of occupational health and hygiene service providers. * Perform other related duties as assigned by SSOMA Management. **Requirements** * Licensed and registered Medical Doctor (fully accredited). * Specialization or Diploma in **Occupational Health** (mandatory). * Prior experience in **mining operations** (preferred). * Knowledge of current legal regulations on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Occupational Health. * Availability to work under the **mining work schedule**. **Additional Requirements (summarized)** * **Master’s Degree in Occupational Health** (mandatory). * **BLS (Basic Life Support)**, **PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support)**, **Stop The Bleed – Provider**, and **CAHOC Certification** (mandatory). * **ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)** (preferred). * **NIOSH-Method Spirometry Certification** (mandatory). * Diploma / Specialization / Master’s Degree in **Industrial Safety** and **Occupational Safety and Hygiene** (preferred). * Knowledge and experience in **hazard identification** and **risk assessment**. * **Hospital Biosecurity Certification** (mandatory). * Ability to develop **Written Safe Work Procedures (WSWP)** and management plans. * Training as **Internal Auditor for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards** (preferred). * Training in **Sleep Medicine**, **Psychosocial Risks**, **Mental Health**, **Toxicological Emergencies**, and **Ergonomic Analysis** (preferred). * **Proficiency in computer tools**: Windows, Office, Databases (Intermediate/Advanced level). **Benefits** * Mining work schedule: **20 days on / 10 days off** * Formal employment from day one, with all statutory benefits. * **Profit-sharing participation** * Meals, accommodation, and transportation covered during the work schedule. * Statutory life insurance and accident-related medical coverage. * Opportunities for professional development within mining operations. * Positive work environment and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
