Zafranal is a copper and gold project projecting an annual production of approximately 126,000 tonnes of copper during its first five years of operation. It is located in the Arequipa region, in the Majes district, about a 4-hour drive from the city of Arequipa, Peru. Currently, the project is advancing through its detailed engineering phase and preparing its construction permit application, with an approval decision expected in 2025. Reporting to the External Communications Superintendent, the **Senior Community Communications Analyst** will be responsible for coordinating and executing communication projects, campaigns, and programs focused on community development, in accordance with the communications strategy, aligned with the company's Social and Environmental Management programs within the sustainability strategy framework. This role will contribute to establishing effective relationships with stakeholders in the surrounding areas, enhancing the positioning of social and environmental topics, as well as the integrated Teck Zafranal brand in the Majes Valley, Majes El Pedregal, Lluta, and other areas of influence of the Zafranal project, anticipating reputational risks and opportunities in the region. This position is based in Majes El Pedregal, under a 5x2 work schedule, with travel required to the Majes Valley and Lluta. **Main Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Serve as an ambassador of Teck’s culture, ensuring the development of a workforce aligned with our purpose and values, and promoting diversity and inclusion strategies at all organizational levels. * Execute community communication plan activities in the Majes Valley (Huancarqui, Uraca Corire, and annex Pedregal), Majes El Pedregal, Lluta, and other areas within the project’s social influence zone. * Provide support for tactical actions and the production of communication materials that strategically support and strengthen the positioning of project-related social topics in local areas of influence, particularly regarding employment and local procurement. * Execute cross-functional strategic support activities, including coordination and engagement with key internal departments such as Social Management, Environmental Services, Land Management, Legal, Security, HSE, Human Resources, among others. * Support environmental management initiatives in areas of influence, including participatory environmental monitoring, biodiversity projects, and other related efforts, contributing strategically to the positioning of environmental topics. * Implement the community communication strategy to promote the company's local social investment plan and sustainability strategy. * Coordinate the creation of communication pieces targeted at local areas of influence, including photographic and audiovisual production and editorial content. * Execute local events under the corporate brand according to the annual event calendar. * Provide communication support for the implementation of water access strategy, land strategy, and other initiatives necessary to achieve project milestones. * Prepare daily, weekly, biweekly, and monthly reports and results summaries for the Communications Management team. **Requirements** -------------- * Individuals who align with the values that guide everything we do at Teck: Health and Safety, Sustainability, Excellence, Accountability, Courage, Humility and Determination, Respect and Inclusion. * Degree or Bachelor's in Communication Sciences, Sociology, or Anthropology. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in community communication within the extractive sector. * Experience participating in conflict prevention, management, and resolution processes, promoting dialogue, managing social and environmental development projects, and achieving and maintaining social acceptance. * Postgraduate studies or specializations in communication for development, corporate social responsibility, community relations, social investment management, or social conflict prevention. * Knowledge of communication and information programs, conflict prevention and resolution, property negotiation. * Knowledge of socio-economic assessments, social context mapping, risk analysis. * Familiarity with communication and social indicators or KPIs. * General understanding of mining processes and stages of mining projects. * Knowledge in situational communication diagnostics. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. * Intermediate level of English language proficiency.
