POSITION PURPOSE Leads the assigned store to achieve sales objectives through operational excellence, discipline, and a committed team with flawless execution. Supports the District Manager in communicating corporate guidelines to the assigned store using the strategy of one vision, one voice, one message. The Store Manager's role is to fulfill and execute the company’s mission on a daily basis.**SALES** * Expected to meet or exceed assigned sales targets and performance metrics within their area. * Maintains commitment to company sales processes, values, and business ethics code. * Drives sales and ensures underperformance patterns are addressed. * Monitors employee-customer interactions and provides constructive feedback on how employees can improve service and increase sales. * Responsible for increasing customer traffic by participating in local events and/or marketing opportunities. **PRODUCT** * Ensures consistent execution of the company's marketing and visual presentation standards. * Proactively identifies various market opportunities and delivers recommendations to the District Manager regarding localized products and marketing and visual strategies. * Ensures store visual standards are always met through analysis of seller reports and/or adjusting sales floor displays and providing recommendations to the District Manager. * Ability to generate excitement, demonstrate passion for the product, and communicate relevant information to customers regarding fitness, fashion, and product knowledge. **PERSONNEL** * Demonstrates ability to develop a culture of recognition, accountability, and discipline. * Collaborates with Human Resources to hire, develop, and retain top talent, and addresses labor relations issues. * Ability to build and maintain an effective succession plan for the store. * Ensures adequate staffing at all times by scheduling shifts based on business trends and making necessary adjustments per season. * Sets performance standards and ensures Sales Associates contribute to company objectives. * Mentors and develops key personnel to prepare them for career advancement. * Supervises employees by implementing policies and procedures through disciplinary action documentation, performance evaluations, reporting incidents to Human Resources and senior management regarding any policy/procedure violations, and preparing related documentation. **OPERATIONS** * Maintains proper inventory controls, facilitates inventory transactions, and performs bulk counts. * Handles bank deposits; responsible for daily bank deliveries, with or without armored car service, at a specific location. * Ability to complete store audits to ensure compliance with established loss prevention policies and programs. * Ensures price integrity and product pricing reflect current markdowns and increases according to company guidelines. * Ensures all sales are correctly entered and that all employees are trained to process transactions. * Maintains daily records of store sales, employee schedules, damages, mismatched footwear, deposit logs, employee discounts, new hire paperwork, refunds, and visitor logs. * Effectively implements a Responsibility Area (ADR) program to enhance ownership, development, execution, and management team accountability. **LEADERSHIP** * Demonstrates Skechers’ Key Behaviors for each Essential Competency. * Serves as a role model by presenting a professional image in appearance, communication, and conduct. * Demonstrates excellent personal selling skills and sales training abilities for employees. **ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** ===================================== Other duties as necessary to maintain daily store operations. Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Strong cash-handling skills are required. **REASONING ABILITY:** ================================== Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Use suggestive selling techniques to build multiple sales. **SUPERVISION:** ================ Direct Supervision **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** =========================== While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk, lift or reach with hands and arms, push, pull, grasp (gently/firmly), twist (neck/waist), bend, and kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee is constantly placed under counters, fixtures, or in warehouse areas to operate various office equipment such as cash register, computer, fax machine, calculator, printer, etc.; stock merchandise on shelves, counters, and tables, handle inventory, clean the store, etc. The employee is required to remain constantly moving within the store to greet and sell products to customers, replenish stock, organize merchandise and inventory, clean the store, etc. The person in this position frequently communicates with customers, both in person and by phone, to greet, welcome, assist, and sell products; communicates with the District Manager for direction, etc.; must be able to document incidents in the absence of managers; must be able to exchange information accurately in these situations.
