Job Description: Transport Assistant The transport assistant is responsible for providing operational and logistical support in the activities related to the transportation of goods. Their work ensures that transport operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and within established timeframes. They also assist in loading and unloading, document verification, and supporting the driver during trips. Main Responsibilities of a Transport Assistant * **Support in loading and unloading** * Assist with the proper loading and unloading of cargo. * Ensure that the load is properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or accidents. * **Document control and verification** * Review shipping manifests, invoices, and other transport documents. * Assist in delivering and receiving documents at destination points. * **Driver assistance** * Provide route guidance and coordinate with customers or supervisors. * Offer support during emergencies or unexpected situations on the road. * **Customer service** * Maintain courteous and respectful communication with customers and cargo recipients. * **Cargo supervision** * Verify that the goods match the documentation. * Ensure products are handled according to safety regulations. * **Compliance with safety regulations** * Use personal protective equipment. * Monitor compliance with traffic regulations and transportation safety protocols. * **Reporting and communication** * Report any incidents during transit (delays, damages, losses). * Maintain constant communication with the logistics or dispatch department.
