At ***Ríos Foundry*** we are looking for a ***Plant and Laboratory Assistant*** responsible for supporting the plant manager in coordinating, executing, and controlling molding and melting activities, ensuring compliance with established quality, safety, and production time standards. **Responsibilities** * Measure and monitor process parameters involved (measuring pouring temperature, measuring pour time.) * Polish samples for accurate spectrographic reading. * Perform initial and final chemical analysis of casting samples. * Verify the chemical composition of raw materials such as scrap, ensuring timely stock availability and proper classification. * Input obtained chemical compositions from each casting into the computer system. * Complete casting forms and other assigned documents, ensuring accurate completion and timely communication to relevant parties. * Ensure proper calibration and correct operation of equipment prior to use, reporting any deviations or equipment failures during the process to supervisors. * Promptly report any non-conformities detected during the process. * Monitor stock levels of tools and work supplies in the area (abrasives, PPE). * Assist in organizing and cleaning the work area according to principles of order and safety. * Ensure proper use of PPE by personnel. * Support supervision of safe working conditions. * Promote safe practices and environmental care in handling area waste. **Requirements** * Technical degree in metallurgy or bachelor's in Metallurgical Engineering or related fields. * Minimum of 2 years proven experience in foundry companies preferred. * Solid knowledge of the melting process and sample collection. * Knowledge in handling and preparation of molten samples. * Proficient in proper use of spectrometers. * Knowledge in optimization of production processes and process management. * Basic level Excel (desirable). * Basic ERP handling (not mandatory). * Availability to work 100% on-site in Comas. **Valued Competencies** * Organization and time management. * Ability to work in industrial environments. * Teamwork and effective communication. * Proactivity and results orientation. * Focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
