This is the start of an incredible journey, we wish the best to you! **Staff Software Engineer, Android** * **Division:** Operations \& Technology * **Unit:** Digital Engineering * **Level:** 7.2 * **Contract Type:** Indefinite **Purpose:** Leads and supervises the Senior Software Engineering Chapter, Android at Scotiabank Peru, ensuring that strategies, plans and initiatives are executed in compliance with regulations, internal policies and current procedures. **Requirements:** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field * Postgraduate studies in Android development desirable * Minimum of 8 years of experience in Android programming and development * Minimum of 2 years leading Android development teams * Required knowledge: Software design and architecture, Programming Languages (JAVA, KOTLIN), environments, Functional Programming, Algorithms and data structures, Front and Backend, Secure Coding * Language (Speaking) at advanced level **Responsibilities:** * Promotes a customer-centric culture within the team to strengthen relationships and leverage bank knowledge and systems. * Conceptualizes and designs customer-focused software, developing key technical capabilities and optimizing value delivery. * Designs and develops web/mobile components and services that extend digital capabilities and deliver world-class experiences. * Develops high-quality, maintainable and scalable software, ensuring key metrics and test coverage. * Promotes secure coding practices, identifying and preventing vulnerabilities. * Assumes operational responsibility for developed software, collaborating in incident resolution and service indicator improvement. * Leads the software development lifecycle, making technical decisions at program level. * Mentors and coaches other team members. * Develops Android mobile applications, user experiences and reusable components using technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, Google Services, Gradle and Jetpack. * Considers the bank's risk appetite and risk culture in daily decisions. * Fosters efficient and effective operations aligned with Scotiabank values, Code of Conduct and Global Sales Principles. * Builds a high-performance environment by implementing talent strategies that attract, retain and develop the team.
