Quality Control Technician – Ready-Mix Concrete ATECON E.I.R.L. Position Purpose Ensure the **conformity and performance** of ready-mix concrete through **sampling, execution of tests, control of variables at plant and site**, and **traceability** of results according to current standards (ASTM/NTP/RNE). Key Responsibilities * **Field sampling and testing** of fresh concrete: slump, **temperature**, **air content**, **density/unit weight**, and **setting time** when applicable. * **Preparation, identification, and initial curing** of **specimens/cylinders** for **compressive strength**, including their **registration and traceability** (site–plant–laboratory). * **Laboratory testing**: compression tests on specimens at 7/14/28 days; **absorption/density** of aggregates; **gradation**, **moisture content**, and **sand equivalent** when required. * **On-site quality verification**: compatibility with mix design, control of **admixtures** and **discharge times**, checking **slump** vs. specification, **controlled adjustments** (water/admixtures) with authorization. * **Document control**: sampling forms, test reports, certificates, **site logs**, and daily reports to Quality/Plant Supervision. * **Non-conformance management**: detection, **batch quarantine**, root cause analysis (5 whys/simple ISHIKAWA), and proposal of **corrective actions**. * **Basic calibration and maintenance** of equipment (Abrams cone, thermometer, scale, compactors, compression machine, air meter, oven, molds, curing chamber). * **Safety and environment**: strict use of PPE, laboratory (mobile/fixed) organization and cleanliness, proper handling of waste and aggregates. * **Site customer service**: clear technical communication, resolution of queries, coordination with foremen/supervisors regarding results and pour release. Requirements * **Civil engineering student or Technician** in Civil Construction, Materials, Laboratory, or related field (preferably with **certification** in concrete testing). * **1–2 years** of experience in **quality control** of ready-mix concrete and/or materials laboratory. * Practical knowledge of **ASTM/NTP** and **RNE** standards (concrete, aggregates, and tests). * Experience operating **compression machine**, air meter, scales, ovens, molds, curing chamber, etc. * Proficiency in **Excel/Google Sheets** and field data recording applications; ability to write **technical reports**. * **Availability** for site work, rotating shifts, and travel within assigned area. * **Class A-I driver's license** (mandatory).
