**About the Role** We are seeking an Intermediate Developer to join our Universal Design System team. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining our design system, ensuring consistency and quality across all TELUS digital products. As an Intermediate Developer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design system, collaborating with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to create a seamless user experience.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast\-paced environment. **Responsibilities** * Develop and Maintain Design System Components: Build, test, and maintain reusable * UI components and libraries that adhere to the design system guidelines. * Collaborate with Designers: Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design specifications into functional components, ensuring design fidelity and usability. * Code Reviews and Best Practices: Participate in code reviews, provide constructive * feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. * Documentation: Help create and maintain comprehensive documentation for design * system components, including usage guidelines, API references, and best practices. * Support and Troubleshoot: Provide support to product teams using the design system, * troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes as needed. * Continuous Improvement: Stay up\-to\-date with industry trends and best practices, and * contribute to the continuous improvement of the design system. * Cross\-functional Collaboration: Work with cross\-functional teams, including product * managers, developers, and QA, to ensure the design system meets the needs of all * stakeholders. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. * 3\-5 years of experience in front\-end development, with a focus on building and maintaining design systems * Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. * Experience with modern front\-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, React Native, Vue.js, Angular). * Familiarity with Figma * Understanding of responsive design principles and accessibility standards * Experience with integration of third\-party systems and APIs. * Excellent problem\-solving and debugging skills. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * A passion for design and user experience. * Desire to learn and take on new challenges **Great to have:** * Experience with Native technologies, e.g Android and iOS * Experience with accessibility testing tools and techniques. * Knowledge of UX/UI design principles. * Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. * Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, CPWA) **What’s in it for you:** * Private medical and life insurance from day one. * Employee Stock Purchase Plan ESPP * Budget for professional growth (certifications) * Schedule flexibility. * Extra bonus based on performance.
