communities we serve, and work to ensure a sustainable future for all. **Job Description** **Main Function** * Lead the effective and integrated management of risks and safeguards at WWF Peru, facilitating processes, developing tools, and strengthening team capacity to ensure institutional compliance, effective risk management, and generation of relevant learning for decision-making. **Key Responsibilities** **Safeguards** * Supervise, facilitate, and monitor the effective application of WWF’s Principles and Safeguards in WWF Peru projects and by implementing partners, ensuring compliance. * Develop and provide practical tools, training, and technical guidance to staff and implementing partners on the application of WWF Peru’s Principles and Safeguards. * Ensure, during proposal design, integration of WWF’s Principles and Safeguards, donor safeguard requirements, and risk management. * Provide training and technical support to staff and implementing partners in applying safeguards. * Keep updated the safeguards instruments for each landscape (risk analysis tool, stakeholder engagement plan, mitigation plans, among others). * Supervise and ensure the effective implementation of WWF Peru’s Complaint and Grievance Mechanism, guaranteeing its accessibility, transparency, and proper handling. * Ensure systematic organization and availability of documentation and evidence related to safeguard processes. **Risk Management** * Manage processes for identification, analysis, mitigation, and monitoring of risks, ensuring continuous improvement of the system, updating criteria and methodologies, and ongoing feedback. * Facilitate collective exercises to identify, analyze, and define risk mitigation measures, ensuring risk management is a shared and cross-cutting process. * Promote an institutional culture of timely risk identification and reporting across all office levels. * Develop guidelines, tools, and training processes to strengthen staff and partners’ capacity for effective risk management. * Monitor risks and follow up on the implementation of mitigation plans with thematic leads, ensuring execution of actions, development and updating of protocols, and establishing approval and escalation mechanisms for critical risks. * Periodically review and update the risk register, ensuring its quality and traceability, and strategically report to the Executive Committee and WWF Network for decision-making. **Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning** * Lead the integration of Safeguard Principles and risk management into WWF Peru’s monitoring, evaluation, and learning methodologies and approaches. * Provide technical guidance and support in designing and applying socio-environmental indicators for monitoring at different planning levels. * Facilitate processes and methodologies to generate and systematize lessons learned on risk and safeguards management, providing key inputs for decision-making. * Provide guidance and recommendations to ensure inclusive and respectful engagement processes with communities and stakeholders, aligned with WWF’s Inclusive Conservation Principles. * Support the PMEL Officer on key strategic planning, operational planning, evaluation, and learning priorities. * Other duties as necessary for WWF Peru. **Requirements** **Education:** * Professional degree in social sciences, environmental sciences, law, or related fields. * Specialization in topics related to conservation and social development. * Desirable: additional training in safeguards and risk management. **Experience:** * At least 8 years of experience in socio-environmental risk and safeguards management. * Experience in developing guidelines, tools, and protocols, as well as facilitating collective processes and guiding engagement with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams. * Proven experience working with indigenous organizations and other local groups, and in coordinating activities related to social and community development, governance, gender, and inclusion within conservation and sustainable development initiatives. * Advanced English proficiency for interaction with the WWF Network and international partners. * Desirable experience in NGOs, international agencies, or institutions with established safeguards and risk management standards. * Skills in critical analysis, information systematization, and preparation of technical reports for diverse audiences. **Knowledge:** * Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Office. * Advanced English language skills (oral and written). * Solid understanding of human rights and social justice. * Knowledge of safeguard frameworks from international agencies (World Bank, IDB, GEF, UN). * Knowledge of MINAM
