A prominent logistics-sector company is currently seeking 1 Network Administrator for its Systems Department. Our offices are located at BSF Warehouses, Punta Hermosa, Lurin.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or higher in related fields: Networks/Telecommunications; Systems/Computer Science; Systems Engineering; Information Technology.
Equivalent technical training with verifiable 3-year experience is valued.
Training (technical knowledge and desirable certifications):
- Immediate and full availability required.
- Essential technical knowledge:
* Networks: TCP/IP, subnetting, routing (static/dynamic), switching, VLAN, STP.
* Network services: DHCP, DNS, NTP (desirable), IP address management.
* Enterprise Wi-Fi: channels, power levels, roaming, site survey (basic concepts), troubleshooting.
* Security: firewalls, VPN, segmentation, best practices for hardening.
* Structured troubleshooting (OSI layers), packet capture and analysis.
2\) Specific Responsibilities
Network Operation and Maintenance
* Administer and support switching, routing, and Wi-Fi infrastructure (configuration, optimization, backups, updates).
* Monitor network health (latency, packet loss, bandwidth, availability) and ensure compliance with internal SLAs.
* Manage ISP links, redundancy, and inter-site communications (WAN/SD-WAN/MPLS as applicable).
* Configure and maintain VLANs, subnets, DHCP, DNS, NAT (especially for critical applications).
Network Security
* Administer firewalls, access policies, rules, and segmentation (e.g., separating operational networks, guest networks, CCTV, handhelds/scanners, IoT).
* Implement and maintain VPN (site-to-site and remote access), access control (ACL).
* Manage security tools and practices: hardening, port control, whitelisting, service shutdown.
* Support audits, compliance efforts, and incident response (blocking, containment, technical evidence).
Logistics Operational Support
* Ensure connectivity for operational systems: WMS/TMS, RF/handheld terminals, thermal/label printers, etc. (as per equipment).
* Coordinate warehouse deployments or changes: rack relocations, area expansions, new APs, new switches.
* Support CCTV/NVR and access control connectivity.
Technical Management and Documentation
* Maintain network documentation: diagrams, IP addressing, inventory, configuration standards, change logs.
* Manage changes following best practices (maintenance windows, rollback plans, communication).
* Propose improvements: redundancy, segmentation, technology upgrades, Wi-Fi coverage optimization.
Soft Skills
* Strong service orientation and commitment to operational continuity.
* Clear communication with non-technical users (operations/warehouse staff).
* Ability to prioritize incidents (P1/P2/P3) and maintain control during crises.
* Documented orderliness and preventive focus (not just “firefighting”).
* Teamwork.
Performance Indicators (Suggested KPIs)
* Network availability (uptime) per site.
* Average resolution time by severity (MTTR).
* Planned change success rate vs. incidents caused by changes.
* Improvement in Wi-Fi coverage/stability in operations (reduction in handheld disconnections).
Salary: Negotiable, between PEN 5,000 and PEN 5,500 (based on interview)
