Position Summary: Anglo American is seeking a Drilling Controller to operate drilling equipment safely and productively, in compliance with technical and environmental standards. Key Highlights: 1. Contribute to Anglo American Quellaveco's zero-harm vision Company Description Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation—one of the world’s largest copper deposits—located in the Moquegua region of southern Peru. Quellaveco will have a 30-year reserve life. It will employ open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, along with molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation. Job Description Anglo American is currently seeking a Drilling Controller (MS1\). **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Safely execute daily tasks assigned by your supervisor, with environmental responsibility and in accordance with the technical specifications of the assigned drill rig. * Operate the drill rig for which you have achieved approved qualification authorized by the Mine Training Department. * Obtain authorization for at least four (4\) pieces of equipment associated with the role, including detailed operational classification as primary equipment. * Continue building competencies in core functions aligned with your role to enhance expertise, thereby meeting safety, quality, and environmental stewardship standards. * Ensure compliance with Operational and Safety KPIs. **CORE FUNCTIONS:** * Participate in the training plan related to technical aspects of drill rig operation and autonomous mine operations, to meet operational safety requirements and support continuous process improvement and career development. * Operate safely and productively, adhering to all procedures and work standards. * Be able to read and understand the operations manual and procedures for your equipment. * Verify that equipment is in suitable condition at the start and end of your shift. * Refrain from operating equipment when maneuvers are unsafe. * Keep equipment clean, including all instruments. * Assume responsibility for operational activities under your direct control. * Inspect your work area. * Manage validity of internal license and MTC license for authorized equipment operation, complying fully with RITRAN requirements. * Apply Smart Roc D65 and Pit Viper 351D drill rig operating practices and techniques for manual and tele-remote operation, according to acquired competencies, following equipment manufacturer instructions and recommendations. Associated drilling activities such as blast pattern surveys, vehicle-based plotting, etc., coordinated with supervision. * Operate the following equipment: * Pit Viper 351 Drill Rig (ADS Operation). * Smart Roc D65 Drill Rig \& Van Bench Remote. * Pit Viper 351 Drill Rig (Manual Operation). * SmartRoc D65 Drill Rig (Manual \& Tele-Remote Operation) * 4x4 Vehicle (Light-duty vehicle) **SHE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s SHE values, principles, and policy, and contribute to its zero-harm vision. * Ensure implementation of SHE hazard and risk controls related to assigned activities at the workplace to enable safe task execution. * Comply with standards, procedures, and internal regulations of the Management System; actively participate in training, awareness, and Zero-Harm culture development meetings. * Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents. Requirements **EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS** * Completed secondary education. * Specific certifications required to operate machinery associated with this role or similar. * Driver’s License (Category A3\-C) for Van Bench Remote. **EXPERIENCE** When referring to experience, please consider the following: * Minimum two (2) years’ experience operating primary equipment associated with this role or similar. * Experience in mining or companies providing mining-related services. * Experience in mining operational activities. * Knowledge of operating techniques related to the role’s primary equipment. * Knowledge of operational safety aspects, use of safety management tools, and understanding of operational procedures (PETS). **SHE COMPETENCIES** * Ability to recognize SHE hazards and risks associated with own activities, as well as identify effective controls implemented.
