A Split Set is a metallic bolt made of steel, characterized by a slot that runs continuously along its entire body. Also known as a friction bolt, it is installed by inserting it into a borehole with a diameter slightly smaller than that of the bolt itself. During installation, the tube compresses as it is forced into the hole, creating uniform pressure against the walls of the borehole and generating friction between the steel and the surrounding rock. This friction is what allows the anchor to be securely held in place, functioning as an efficient support system against potential rock block falls.
