




Company Description \-Anglo American, in partnership with Mitsubishi Corporation, is developing the Quellaveco mining operation—one of the world’s largest copper deposits—located in the Moquegua region in southern Peru. Quellaveco will have a 30-year reserve life. It will employ open-pit mining and flotation processes to produce copper concentrates, as well as molybdenum and silver as by-products. Quellaveco is expected to produce an average of 300,000 tonnes of copper per year during its first 10 years of operation. Responsible for managing the sustainability and maturity of the social management system, ensuring its strategic and continuous implementation in accordance with the corporate Social Way policy and other applicable international standards (e.g., GISTM, IRMA, The Copper Mark, ICMM). This role serves as a key assurance point—validating evidence and performance prior to escalation—leading indicator tracking and supporting audits to strengthen resilience and the social license to operate. Key responsibilities—though not limited to—include integrating compliance, strategy, risk and impact management, auditing, and internal coordination, aligning processes with corporate and operational commitments to maintain operations at the highest international standards. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead the design, validation, and execution of implementation plans for internal and external policies and standards (including international ones), ensuring compliance with current national regulations, commitments stipulated in environmental management instruments, business needs, and corporate requirements. * Ensure comprehensive management of internal and external audits and self-assessments, guaranteeing their timely and efficient resolution. * Facilitate and ensure integration of social requirements into operational and strategic processes, promoting effective and participatory coordination with site-based multidisciplinary teams. * Design, update, and maintain plans, procedures, guidelines, and technical tools that strengthen social management. * Lead gap closure, action follow-up, and application of lessons learned, ensuring continuous improvement. * Manage implementation and administration of information in corporate tools, maintaining a robust system for controlling and tracing evidence and records of the social management system. * Guarantee reliability, traceability, and continuous updating of information for reporting, KPIs, and audits, aligned with the social management system. * Supervise consultants and specialized service providers, ensuring compliance with Terms of Reference (TDR), standards, deliverables, and budget—including performance evaluation and proposal of improvements. * Serve as a technical reference (advisor) on regulations, international standards, social risks and impacts, Human Rights, Due Diligence, Consultation Processes, and best practices—providing strategic advisory support. * Design and implement Social Performance training programs (including needs from other multidisciplinary areas), in alignment with the training plan and resource allocation. * Promote a culture of compliance and responsible social management across the organization. * Lead the team toward achieving plans and goals, fostering continuous improvement and professional development. Encourage collaborative, preventive, and results-oriented leadership to consolidate a high-performance culture. * Manage and ensure efficient execution of implementation plans (short-, medium-, and long-term), guaranteeing objective achievement and budget optimization in coordination with Integrated Planning and Budgeting. * Exercise proactive leadership to maximize synergy among site-based multidisciplinary teams to achieve Social Performance strategic objectives. * Ensure efficient and planned execution of the Superintendent’s budget. * Other duties assigned by the Social Performance, Risk & Compliance Superintendent within the scope of core responsibilities. **SHE Functions and Responsibilities** * Know and apply Anglo American Quellaveco’s SHE values, principles, and policy—and contribute to its vision of zero harm. * Comply with—and ensure compliance with—legal requirements and other commitments assumed by Anglo American Quellaveco, as well as standards, procedures, and internal regulations of the Management System; including attendance at training, awareness-raising, and Zero Harm culture-building sessions. * Ensure implementation of controls for identified SHE hazards and risks at the workplace to enable safe work execution. * Promptly report unsafe acts and conditions, as well as incidents. * Ensure continuous improvement in Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Management. **Qualifications \-Education, Language, and License** * University degree (licensed/registered professional). Preferred disciplines: Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography, Anthropology, or related fields. * Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written). * Valid driver’s license Class A-I or higher is mandatory. **Professional Experience** * Minimum five (5) years’ experience in similar roles within mining, energy, or consulting companies. * Experience leading teams. * Desirable experience in implementing and administering social management systems. * Demonstrable experience in auditing and knowledge of internal and/or external audit procedures. * Experience managing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems. * Experience using planning tools. * Desirable experience in community and/or institutional relations. * Proven track record interacting with and influencing multidisciplinary teams. **Knowledge** * Knowledge of national regulations, international standards, social risks and impacts, Human Rights, Due Diligence, Consultation Processes, and best practices in Social Performance. * Knowledge of management systems (design, implementation, and sustainability). * Advanced English proficiency. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Earth, AutoCAD, and GIS. **SHE Competencies** * Knowledge and experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, considering applicable legal regulations for the mining sector. * Knowledge and experience in incident investigation. * Knowledge and experience identifying SHE hazards and risks and proposing effective controls. **Additional Information \-About the Role** * Reports to: Social Performance, Risk & Compliance Superintendent * Work schedule: Hybrid 5x2 (3 days onsite, 2 remote) * Contract type: Permanent * Location: Moquegua city **Application Deadline** * Tuesday, December 23 **Next Steps** If you proceed to the next stage, you will receive an email from us inviting you to complete your first assessment on our HireVue platform and fill out a data form via Microsoft Forms.
