





**Resident Engineer** **Location:** Moquegua, Peru **Shifts:** 5 days on / 2 days off **Contract Type:** Fixed-term – 12 months **Job Type:** Comprehensive project management and supervision **Reports to:** Project Manager (consortium/client) **Work Framework** This role ensures engineering design compliance and comprehensive field execution for mining–industrial projects, guaranteeing safety, quality, cost control, and schedule adherence across all construction phases: earthworks, civil works, mechanical/piping installation, structural steelwork, electrical and instrumentation installations, testing, and pre-commissioning. It coordinates interfaces with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, SSMA, Planning, Cost Control, and Operations to ensure constructability, maintainability, and integrity of facilities. **Objective** To lead and supervise field engineering activities across all phases and oversee execution of a mining–industrial project, ensuring all work complies with IFC drawings, technical specifications, applicable regulations, and contractual commitments. To proactively manage technical, contractual, safety, and environmental risks; and to ensure delivery of works fully ready for pre-commissioning and commissioning within scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. **Key Responsibilities** * Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures, demonstrating visible leadership in SSMA. * Manage construction execution, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and technical standards. * Coordinate on-site human resources, equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers. * Validate construction procedures, welding procedures, lifting procedures, pressure testing, and FAT/SAT. * Control work quality through inspections, tests, trials, and work acceptance. * Coordinate with Engineering to resolve interferences and scope changes. * Issue daily, weekly, and monthly reports (physical progress, KPIs, risks, issues, and required decisions). * Lead coordination meetings with client, contractors, and supervision teams. **Formal Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; valid registration with the Peruvian Institute of Engineers (CIP). * Valid driver’s license. * Minimum 8–10 years’ experience executing mining or heavy industrial projects. * Knowledge of Peruvian mining safety regulations (Supreme Decree No. 024-2016-EM) and construction regulations. * Familiarity with international codes: ASME, API, ACI, AISC, AWS, NFPA, ISO. * Proficiency in assembly, lifting, pressure testing, and welding procedures. * QA/QC standards and quality assurance practices in construction. **Experience** * Proven experience in mining or heavy industry. * Site management experience on mining projects (e.g., concentrator plants, material handling systems, camps, auxiliary facilities). * Supervision of contractors and subcontractor management. * Cost control, valuation, and S-curve monitoring. **Specific Knowledge** Ability to: * Interpret IFC drawings, specifications, and engineering documents. * Plan and manage on-site resources (personnel, equipment, materials). * Ensure adherence to schedule and S-curve. * Resolve interferences and construction issues in coordination with Engineering. * Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. * Lead site meetings and maintain effective communication with the client. **Social Process Skills** * Lead on-site work teams with discipline, respect, and commitment to safety. * Manage conflicts and negotiate agreements with contractors and clients. * Maintain cooperative, trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. * Make timely decisions under pressure in highly complex mining environments. * Work with sensitivity to local social, political, and cultural realities. **We value local talent** Employment type: Full-time Application question(s): * Do you currently reside in Moquegua or nearby areas?
