We're seeking exceptional leaders for multiple high\-visibility, high\-trust Director\-level roles within our 500\+ person centralized Data organization, reporting directly to the VP of Data: * **Product Data Science** — Leading teams across that support our core product work, including areas like Online Store, Merchandising, Checkout, AI assistants, Payments and Merchant Analytics * **Marketing Measurement Data Science** — Driving marketing mix modelling, incrementally, and attribution to optimize spend across all channels and regions * **Corporate Data Science** — Building a single source of truth and delivering executive\-ready insights; transforming finance data and tooling with FP\&A; quantifying infrastructure cost, reliability, and unit economics; and creating radical clarity of our understanding of merchants, buyers and our business **What you’ll bring:** * Data experience at scale: Leadership in companies where analytics on massive datasets drives product and business decisions and results in impactful data products. * Product analytics expertise: Depth in metrics design, experimentation, behavioral analytics, instrumentation, causal inference, and standardized dashboards for product surfaces spanning multiple domains. * Corporate analytics expertise: Deep experience with executive reporting, data modelling and planning workflows, metric governance, and semantic layers; skilled at turning data into concise, executive\-ready narratives and decisions. * Measurement leadership: Experience aligning metric definitions and analytic methods across multiple product/business teams and initiatives. * Organizational development: A track record building and leading best\-in\-class data teams (managers and senior ICs) in high\-growth product environments. * Data quality and reliability: Hands\-on familiarity with data modelling, warehouse stewardship, data quality frameworks, and anomaly detection. * Engineering mindset: Ability to think about building data systems that solve problems at scale * Product mindset: Ability to get to the root of user and merchant problems and create data solutions that drive product outcomes. * Communicator and influencer: Outstanding communication and presentation skills; can influence senior stakeholders and executives with clarity and candor. * Reflexive AI use: You naturally reach for AI tools to write code, debug models, query data, and accelerate experimentation—treating AI as your default coding partner rather than an occasional assistant. **About Shopify** ----------------- Opportunity is not evenly distributed.
