GEOMECHANIC ENGINEER (Underground Mining)

Job Summary: We are seeking a GEOMECHANIC ENGINEER to lead the Geomechanics area in underground mining, performing evaluations, monitoring, and support recommendations to ensure the stability of mine workings. Key Responsibilities: 1. Lead the Geomechanics area and provide technical support for mine operations 2. Evaluate and classify rock mass, define ground support systems 3. Conduct geomechanical monitoring and stability follow-up At Minera Toro de Plata, we are looking for a GEOMECHANIC ENGINEER (underground mine) RESPONSIBILITIES: \- Lead the Geomechanics area and provide technical support to mine operations. \- Conduct geomechanical evaluations in development, preparation, and production workings. \- Evaluate mining projects and associated geomechanical conditions related to advances and new workings. \- Classify rock mass using RMR and/or Q systems. \- Define and recommend ground support systems according to the geomechanical conditions of each working. \- Supervise proper installation and quality of ground support (helical bolts, Hydrabolt, welded wire mesh, shotcrete, etc.). \- Prepare geomechanical profiles and structural mapping of underground workings. \- Conduct geomechanical monitoring and stability follow-up in critical workings. \- Perform geomechanical mapping and office-based analysis for evaluation of rock mass conditions. \- Identify critical zones and issue geotechnical control recommendations. \- Conduct permanent geomechanical inspections inside the mine. \- Prepare technical documentation, geomechanical reports, and summaries. \- Monitor and control Geomechanics area KPIs. \- Control consumption and projection of ground support materials. \- Participate in the development and improvement of ground support and geomechanical control standards. \- Monitor convergences, rock falls, and excavation stability. REQUIREMENTS: \- Mining Engineer, Geologist, or related field (licensed and authorized). \- Specialized in Geomechanics or Rock Mechanics. \- Experience in underground and conventional mining (preferred).
