Teamwork and adherence to technical instructions Job Description The Formworker is a specialized professional engaged in the construction, assembly, and dismantling of formwork made of wood, metal, or synthetic materials, which shape the concrete. Their role is critical to guaranteeing the geometry, strength, and structural safety of elements such as walls, columns, slabs, and foundations, strictly following the project’s engineering drawings. Main Responsibilities * Reading and interpreting structural drawings to position formwork correctly. * Assembling vertical formwork systems (walls and columns) and horizontal formwork systems (floors and slabs). * Preparing, cutting, and adjusting panels, shores, and braces. * Applying form-release agents and cleaning molds to ensure optimal surface finish. * Installing auxiliary components such as wall ties, dowels, and expansion joints. * Supervising shoring and bracing of structures before and during concrete pouring. * Carefully stripping formwork once concrete has achieved required strength. * Strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, especially for work at height. Profile Requirements * Education: Secondary education or First/Second-level Vocational Training in Building Construction and Civil Engineering. Certification in Formwork is preferred. * Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in similar roles on infrastructure or industrial building projects. * Technical Knowledge: * Proficiency in modular formwork systems (e.g., Peri, Doka, Ulma, or similar). * Expert use of manual and power carpentry and construction tools. * Understanding of concrete setting times and behavior. * Competencies: * Physical stamina and endurance for outdoor work. * Attention to detail and precision in measurements. * Ability to work effectively in teams and follow technical instructions. * Others: 20-hour Occupational Risk Prevention (ORP) course specifically for formwork activities.
