Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicing Technician to perform splicing, certification, and installations, ensuring service continuity and preventive maintenance. Key Highlights: 1. Optical fiber splicing execution and reflectometry testing 2. Installation of optical fiber cables and optical components 3. Preventive maintenance and fault response for infrastructure We are looking for an **OPTICAL FIBER SPLICING TECHNICIAN** with immediate availability for various districts of Metropolitan Lima. Requirements * Reside in areas adjacent to Comas, Surquillo, or Cercado de Lima * **Technical degree in Telecommunications, Networking, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.** * Specialized training in optical fiber splicing (certification preferred). * Proficiency in OTDR and optical measurement equipment. * Minimum 1 year of experience in optical fiber splicing or related work. Responsibilities * Perform optical fiber splicing via fusion and conduct reflectometry (OTDR) and power meter tests. * Certify optical links to ensure appropriate power levels. * Install ADSS, drop, OPGW, or other types of optical fiber cables per project requirements. * Install NAP boxes, splice closures, branch points, and optical distribution points. * Operate specialized tools and equipment: fusion splicer, OTDR, power meter, fiber cleaver, fiber stripper, etc. * Conduct preventive maintenance on splice closures, boxes, and optical routes. * Respond to reported faults and perform emergency repairs. * Update infrastructure records, coordinates, routes, and completed splices. * Prepare test reports, measurement records, and activity summaries. * Comply with safety procedures and standards (working at heights, fiber handling, PPE). * Verify proper sealing and waterproofing of splice closures to prevent moisture damage. * Identify field risks and report incidents or findings.
