




MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN \- ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN Position Purpose: Perform maintenance-related tasks on heavy equipment, as stipulated in service contracts with customers (mining companies and/or mining contractors and/or construction projects), at mining units, underground workshops, surface workshops, equipment work areas or fronts, or other locations where such services are required, adhering to technical criteria and safety, health, and environmental guidelines. Specific Responsibilities: * Assess equipment covered under the service contract; report findings and prepare spare parts requests for scheduled maintenance work, based on accumulated operating hours of equipment components. * Evaluate complex electrical systems of assigned low-profile equipment. * Repair, refurbish, commission, or replace complex electrical components—such as electrical panels or circuits—among others. * Participate in the repair and replacement of major equipment components—including motors, gearboxes, converters, cylinders, shafts, among others. * Respond to high-complexity emergencies and unexpected equipment failures, reducing equipment downtime. * Prepare technical reports on equipment condition to schedule future repairs. * Act as team leader, as designated by the immediate supervisor, leading a group of technicians forming a work team. * Coordinate with EHS or the supervisor to obtain permits required for assigned high-risk tasks (e.g., PETS, PETAR, etc.). * Accurately record entry time, exit time, and break times. * Efficiently utilize contractual resources (PPE, assets, consumables, assigned tools, instruments, etc.). * Deliver hands-on training or mentoring to junior-level technicians. Requirements: * Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, or related fields from Technical Institutes (minimum two years of study). * Graduate of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering programs, with specialization in heavy machinery maintenance, maintenance mechanics, production mechanics, or Industrial Engineering. * Six years of experience performing heavy equipment maintenance activities within Surface Mining Units or UGM, or similar segments served by the company. * Minimum three years of experience working with low-profile equipment. * Minimum two years of experience in defensive driving, holding an A2B driver’s license. * Authorization from Sandvik and customers to operate light vehicles (4x4 pickup trucks) under the service contract, provided the employee has been formally assigned to drive such a vehicle. * No medical restrictions preventing performance of duties at mining units located along Peru’s coast, highlands, or jungle regions, where service contracts are in effect.
