A current opportunity has arisen to join AtkinsRealis Peru as a **Chemical Process Engineer** within the Mining and Metallurgy Division for upcoming projects. **Purpose of the Role:** The Chemical Process Engineer will perform assigned duties according to their specialization (oil/gas, water treatment), applying company and/or client procedures and standards. **Responsibilities:** * Duties are intrinsically related to process design within the hydrocarbon industry, particularly: natural gas liquefaction, surface facilities, pumping/compression stations, oil/gas pipelines, natural gas treatment processes, and water treatment for industry in general. * Produce discipline-specific engineering design documents such as: design bases, process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass and energy balances, hydraulic reports, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical reports on transient-state process evaluations. Also prepare line lists, tie-ins, process equipment lists, and vent/flare system analysis and design. * Simulate and model processes, specifically natural gas liquefaction and water treatment. Minimum required software includes: HYSYS, PIPENET, AFT Fathom/Impulse, Waves, Aspen. * Lead and participate in risk workshops such as HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA. * Support and attend meetings with clients and vendors. * Utilize vendor information and collaborate with personnel from other disciplines as required for design deliverables. * Conduct Alternative Evaluation (Trade-Off) studies. * Perform technical documentation review and coordinate with other disciplines. * Support proposal development: jointly complete the technical proposal with technical specialists (strategy, scope, assumptions, exclusions, and execution plan). * Ensure implementation of good engineering practices, integrity, safety, and environmental standards throughout project execution. **Requirements:** * Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petrochemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering (with valid professional license and active professional registration). * Experience: Minimum 10 years in the hydrocarbons sector, with demonstrable involvement in Natural Gas (NG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) transportation plant projects, equipment, process piping, and pipelines. Experience in design across all engineering phases: Conceptual, Basic, FEED, and Detailed. * Technical Knowledge: Advanced proficiency in simulation and hydraulic calculation software for hydrocarbon pipeline transport (e.g., HYSYS, Pipeline Studio, Stoner, AFT Impulse, etc.).
