We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who will be the primary technical owner of our data pipeline layer—responsible for moving data from more than 15 source systems through a medallion architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold), making data available to analysts and machine learning models. The role encompasses orchestrating processes in Python using Dagster, extracting data with dlt, and modeling transformations using dbt. In the short term, one of the top priorities will be migrating the data transformation engine from Databricks to a Trino and Iceberg-based architecture running on OpenShift. This is a senior individual contributor role with a high degree of technical responsibility—including mentoring other engineers, code reviews, and leadership in architectural decisions. **Key Responsibilities:** * Manage and develop data orchestration processes using Dagster. * Design and implement new data extraction pipelines with dlt, integrating diverse sources such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, BigQuery, and SharePoint. * Manage and maintain the Bronze and Silver layers within dbt, supporting Gold data models. * Define and validate data modeling standards—including granularity, primary keys, update frequency, retention policies, and service-level agreements (SLAs). * Lead the migration of data models from Databricks to Trino. * Monitor and resolve data quality issues, investigating root causes in source systems. * Maintain and optimize tools and processes used for local operations and continuous integration (CI). * Conduct code reviews and ensure best practices related to quality, performance, and efficiency. * Provide mentoring and technical support to mid-level data engineers. **Requirements:** * 5+ years of experience in data engineering, especially in data development and transformation. * Advanced Python experience. * Experience working with data orchestration tools such as Dagster or similar. * Experience building and managing production-grade data pipelines. * Strong SQL proficiency and ability to write complex queries and optimize their performance. * Experience using dbt for data modeling, transformation, and validation. * Knowledge of data storage platforms and formats such as ADLS, Parquet, Delta Lake, or Apache Iceberg. * Ability to design scalable, efficient, and data-quality-oriented solutions. * Intermediate-Advanced English **What We Offer:** * Opportunity to join a global, fast-growing company present in 4 countries. * Professional development and growth opportunities in an international setting. * Multicultural teams and global projects. * Hybrid work model requiring one weekly office visit (Manuel Olguin 501 – Santiago de Surco), enabling a healthy work-life balance. * Competitive market-aligned salary. * Full employment benefits from day one, including comprehensive payroll processing and job stability. * Excellent work environment featuring timely payments, growth opportunities, and weekend rest.
