




Position Summary: We are seeking Safety Inspectors to supervise safety and regulatory compliance during a mining plant shutdown, ensuring the integrity of personnel and facilities. With over 96,000 employees, SGS operates a network of more than 2,600 offices and laboratories worldwide. **Job Description** **SAFETY INSPECTORS FOR MINING PLANT SHUTDOWN AT ANTAMINA:** a) Pre-execution Activities: * Document review prior to mobilization/start-up (baseline IPERC, PETS, pre-use checklists, permits, high-risk authorizations, etc.), based on established safety requirements (FR043). * Active participation during pre-execution activities. * Control of entry of critical tools, chemicals, mobile equipment, scaffolding, cranes, etc., in accordance with Antamina procedures. * Verification of area conditions prior to commencement of execution phase. Manage improvements where required. b) During Execution Phase: * Continuous and daily verification of conditions in work areas. * Halt any ongoing operation presenting imminent danger and/or substandard conditions threatening personnel, machinery or facilities until such conditions are eliminated and/or corrected. * Active participation in daily shift-start meetings. * Continuous monitoring of work throughout the execution phase. Identify and promptly correct safety deviations. Report deviations to Antamina’s Industrial Safety Department for coordination with the relevant area supervisor. * Field verification of compliance with critical controls and work procedures (behavioral observations). * Promote preventive safety management during work execution. * Submit daily safety reports focused on good practices and improvement opportunities, including actions taken. * Ensure that each service provided by contractor companies complies with Antamina’s requirements, standards and specifications, or applicable national occupational health and safety regulations. * Verify execution of final incident, near-miss and/or workplace accident reports within the scope of service, in accordance with Antamina guidelines. * Record, process and analyze industrial safety indicators to measure area performance against planned objectives, analyze incident trends, and recommend improvement actions. c) Post-execution Activities: * Prepare a final Plant Shutdown Report covering results versus objectives, contractor performance, key positive aspects, improvement opportunities and recommendations. * Participate in Plant Shutdown closure meetings. REPORTS AND REPORTING: * Submit daily shift reports to the Industrial Safety Department, documenting major deviations or non-compliances identified during inspections of contractor companies, along with the corresponding action plan. * Prepare a final Plant Shutdown Report covering results versus objectives, contractor performance, key positive aspects, improvement opportunities and recommendations. **Requirements** * The Inspector must be a qualified engineer, registered with the professional association and licensed, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining safety and 3 years’ verifiable experience in industrial plant maintenance work. * Training or specialization studies totaling a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) hours. * Certification as a competent person for work at height. * Training in high-risk work. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in SSO (Safety, Health and Environment) inspection and/or supervision (mining/industrial plants). * Emergency response capability. **Additional Information** * Corporate benefits * Project duration: 17 days * Work shift: Day or night, according to schedule * Schedule: 12-hour shifts
