Position Summary: Utec seeks a Head of Research Development to strengthen investigation, manage calls, academic planning, and strategy, and ensure ethical practices and institutional articulation. Key Responsibilities: 1. Support in proposal formulation and funding acquisition 2. Coordination of competitions and scientific evaluation 3. Design of strategies to strengthen research At UTEC \- Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología, we are seeking a Head of Research Development. **What will your challenges be?** **1\. Research Development and Strengthening** Provide support to researchers in formulating proposals for external funding (not in the technical aspects, but rather in areas such as context, impact, and proposal structure). Identify funding opportunities and support the development of application strategies. Promote best practices in project formulation and research development. **2\. Management of Calls and Scientific Evaluation** Coordinate internal research competitions. Design evaluation matrices and criteria for institutional calls (Harvard, MIT, Alberta, among others). Form and coordinate national and international evaluation committees. **3\. Academic Planning and Monitoring** Design and collect information on faculty members', research groups', and centers' research plans. Monitor achievement of research objectives and outputs. Support faculty evaluation processes with respect to the research component. **4\. Research Strategy** Contribute to the design of internal funding strategies. Propose improvements to research support instruments. Propose strategies to strengthen research groups, centers, and lines of research. **5\. Research Ethics and Integrity** Coordinate the operation of the Research Ethics Committee. Promote best practices in research ethics and scientific integrity. **6\. Institutional Articulation** Maintain ongoing coordination with the Research Operations Management to ensure that researchers’ strategies and needs are appropriately translated into administrative processes.
