Staff Boom is an outsourcing company headquartered in Anaheim, California, with locations in the Philippines, Peru, and Colombia. We offer outsourcing services from our remote facilities, including: Insurance Back Office, Accounting/Finance, Customer Service, Lead Generation, Data Entry, IT, Marketing, Legal Support Services, and more.
As a Cybersecurity Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, containing, and responding to cybersecurity threats and technological incidents affecting Staff Boom's global environment. This role works closely with Infrastructure, Cloud Operations, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Support Services, and other technical teams to identify security risks, minimize operational impact, preserve forensic evidence when necessary, and continuously contribute to strengthening the organization’s security posture.
**Requirements:**
* Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Technology (IT), Security Operations Center (SOC), Incident Response, or Help Desk.
* Experience managing incident queues using platforms such as Ivanti, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions.
* Solid knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with endpoint protection tools, antivirus, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and security monitoring solutions.
* Practical knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and common network troubleshooting techniques.
* Basic understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, incident response methodologies, and security best practices.
* Ability to investigate, prioritize, document, and coordinate responses to multiple security incidents simultaneously.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
* Experience documenting incident timelines, evidence, and remediation activities.
* Knowledge of security documentation, evidence collection for audits, and compliance reporting.
* Ability to produce clear, accurate, and detailed technical documentation supporting internal policies and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Customer-service orientation and the ability to communicate professionally and calmly during high-impact incidents.
* Intermediate\-Advanced English level
**Responsibilities:**
* Monitor security platforms, endpoint protection tools, and incident management systems to identify potential cybersecurity threats and operational incidents.
* Investigate security alerts to determine their legitimacy, scope, impact, and required response actions.
* Respond to cybersecurity incidents, including malware infections, phishing attacks, unauthorized access attempts, suspicious authentication events, and other security-related activities.
* Execute containment, eradication, recovery, and validation activities for incidents, minimizing business operation disruption.
* Collect, preserve, and document forensic evidence when necessary to support investigations.
* Conduct root cause analysis and develop recommendations to reduce future risks.
* Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and knowledge base documentation.
* Participate in security awareness initiatives, simulation exercises (tabletop exercises), disaster recovery testing, and continuous improvement activities.
* Track incident trends and provide reports, metrics, and recommendations to management.
* Support regulatory activities, audits, and compliance efforts by delivering documentation and evidence related to security incidents and response processes.
* Create and maintain Knowledge Base (KB) articles and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to support Support Services Engineers and other operational teams.
