Application of safety standards and reading of basic blueprints Perform on-site welding, cutting, and repair of metal structures by preparing materials, operating electric arc welding equipment (MMA/MIG), and applying safety standards. Duties include marking, cleaning surfaces, tack-welding components, and ensuring weld integrity under varying conditions. **Primary Field Responsibilities:** * **Preparation and Assembly:** Remove rust/paint using an angle grinder, cut metal, mark measurements, and assemble/align components with clamps or presses prior to welding. * **Welding Execution:** Apply electric arc welding (shielded metal arc welding, MIG/MAG) to join structures such as grilles, supports, pipes, or perform rapid repairs. * **Cutting and Grinding:** Use oxy-cutting equipment or angle grinders to grind, bevel, and adjust components on-site. * **Safety and Maintenance:** Inspect work areas to prevent fires, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain welding equipment and gas cylinders. * **Blueprint Reading:** Interpret basic blueprints and welding symbols to ensure structural compliance with technical specifications.
