We seek a proven, solid foundation in Java/Spring Boot, combined with practical PHP knowledge to ensure continuity of the legacy ecosystem. **About the Company** **Q Digital System** is a technology company delivering software solutions and digital services to clients across LATAM. We work with multidisciplinary teams using agile methodologies, with a strong focus on quality, security, and continuous improvement. *(Adjust this section with the actual company or end-client name.)* **About the Role** Within your first year, you will have led the development of at least two new Java/Spring Boot services replacing legacy functionality—fully documented and covered by automated tests—and provided targeted, structured support to PHP modules still running in production. **Your Responsibilities** * Design and build new REST APIs in Java 17\+ using Spring Boot, Spring Web, and Spring Data JPA. * Lead decoupling initiatives: identify which components to migrate from legacy PHP to Java microservices. * Write unit tests (JUnit, Mockito) and participate in integration testing. * Manage code in Git using a clear branching strategy and pull requests, actively participating in code reviews. * Diagnose and resolve incidents across DEV, QA, and production environments by interpreting logs and traces. * Provide targeted support for production PHP applications when required by the business, applying progressive refactoring. **Mandatory Requirements** * 3\+ years of backend development experience with Java, including demonstrable experience in production projects using Spring Boot (Spring Web, Spring Data JPA), Java 17\+. * Experience designing and consuming REST APIs (JSON, HTTP, OAuth 2\.0/JWT). * Proficiency with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL, including stored procedures and query optimization. * Experience with Git and collaborative workflows (branching, pull requests, code review). * Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban). * Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with PHP (at least one framework: Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or similar), including REST service consumption/exposure, dependency management via Composer, and legacy code handling. **Nice-to-Have** * Knowledge of microservice architecture or layered/hexagonal architectures. * Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines. * Familiarity with SonarQube, SonarCloud, or other code quality tools. * Experience with API Gateways (e.g., Kong) or observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus). * Knowledge of SQL Server. **Compensation & Conditions** * Formal employment contract from day one. * Hybrid model: 3 days onsite in San Isidro, 2 remote. * Schedule: Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00.
