**Position Objective:**
Responsible for participating in the design, analysis, and review of steel and concrete structures across various projects, particularly in mining. Will work under the supervision of senior structural engineers and collaborate with other multidisciplinary engineers to ensure correct integration of structural designs into the overall project. Will assist in producing technical deliverables and complying with quality and safety standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Support the design of support structures, foundations, and steel and concrete structures under the supervision of senior engineers.
* Participate in preparing drawings, technical specifications, and calculation reports in accordance with applicable project codes and regulations.
* Perform basic structural analysis of structures subjected to various static and dynamic loading conditions.
* Apply structural analysis tools such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, or other software commonly used within the company.
* Ensure structural designs comply with local and international codes, including Peru’s National Building Regulation (RNE), ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and other applicable regulations for mining and industrial infrastructure projects.
* Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, geotechnical) to integrate structural designs into the overall project.
* Occasionally participate in site visits to verify that structural construction is being carried out per drawings and technical specifications.
* Contribute to preparation of technical documentation, ensuring deliverables meet the quality standards established by the company and client.
**What You’ll Bring?**
**Software, Processes, and Tools:**
**Specific Knowledge:** Basic knowledge of support structure design, shallow foundations, steel and concrete structures. Basic experience using SAP2000 and/or STAAD.Pro; or similar software for basic structural analysis. Ability to perform structural analysis under static and dynamic loading conditions, as well as seismic analysis per applicable codes. Familiarity with applicable structural codes such as ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and local regulations related to structural engineering for infrastructure and mining projects. General understanding of soil-structure interaction, interpretation of geotechnical studies, and how they impact structural design—particularly in mining infrastructure projects.
**Specific Experience:** 2–4 years of experience in structural design for general projects, preferably in mining or industrial sectors. Prior experience designing foundations, steel and concrete structures. Participation in industrial and mining infrastructure projects will be considered, along with the ability to apply sector-specific codes and best practices.
**Academic Qualifications, Accreditations, Training:** Active Civil Engineering degree registered with the College of Engineers of Peru (\#CIP).
**HSE Skills:** Actively promotes behaviors aligned with our LIFE value and applicable HSE policies for the discipline.
**IT Skills:** Basic proficiency in Microsoft environment (Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel); experience using MathCad and SAP2000; familiarity with SAFE and ETABS. Experience using STAAD.Pro for structural calculations is highly desirable.
**Personal Competencies:** Willingness to learn from senior engineers and quickly adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and procedures within the team. Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, maintain clear communication, and contribute to the overall project success. Capacity to identify and resolve basic technical issues in structural design, proposing effective solutions under supervision of more experienced engineers. Ability to communicate technical concepts to other team members and actively participate in technical discussions and meetings. Capability to efficiently manage workload, meet deadlines, and organize task execution with supervisor support. Willingness to assume new responsibilities and take initiative in resolving minor issues, maintaining a proactive attitude toward professional development.
