Position Summary: We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to supervise and participate in the engineering development of mining projects, including system and structural design. Design of pumping systems and piping A Chinese private-sector mining company is seeking the following personnel: **MECHANICAL PIPING DESIGN ENGINEER** **REQUIREMENTS:** * Licensed and registered Mechanical Engineer. * Minimum 5 years of experience in the position. * Experience in engineering development of equipment and steel structures, such as API/ASME tanks, racks, structural buildings, and metal structures. * Design experience for water, mineral concentrate (slurry), and tailings (50% and 65% solids) pumping systems, piping, and identification of high-risk pipeline sections. * Design experience for slurry pipelines, desalination plants, beneficiation plants, flexibility analysis, and contingency planning. * Postgraduate studies in Piping Design, Metal Structures, or Fire Protection Systems will be favorably considered. * Knowledge of detailed engineering development required for obtaining operational authorization, beneficiation concession, and transportation concession. * Advanced proficiency in specialized software such as Sidewinder, Belt Analisys, Cad Plant, Solidworks, Fathom, Inventor, Revit, Advance Steel, Robot Structural, Catia or similar, MS Project, Primavera, MS\-office, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Supervise and participate in the conceptualization, design, planning, formulation, and development of assigned engineering studies and projects within the mechanical discipline. * Perform engineering work in their specialty, directly coordinating engineering study activities with peers from other disciplines. * Design and calculate fuel tanks, thickeners, water tanks, piping, fire protection systems, and water/slurry pumping systems. * Provide cross-functional support to the mining project’s engineering studies. * Prepare Equipment Lists, Technical Specifications, Calculation Reports, Simulations, Descriptive Reports, Drawings, and other deliverables; prepare CAPEX estimates for their specialty. * Identify, analyze, and document risks, constructability, and operational feasibility for designs within their specialty. * Coordinate activities with consultants/contractors and operational departments related to the mechanical discipline. * Perform other duties inherent to the position, as assigned by their immediate supervisor. **WE OFFER** * Formal employment registration * Health insurance (EPS) * On-site work under a 14-days-on/7-days-off schedule at the Bella Unión mining camp Employment type: Full-time Work location: On-site employment
