We are currently recruiting a **Specialist Structural Engineer** to join our team. **About the Role** * Seismic structural analysis and design of buildings for mining, industrial, and oil \& gas sectors. Experience in developing structural projects using reinforced concrete; masonry; and structural steel. * Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills to meet demanding deadlines. * Solid engineering technology background, with advanced and proven technical expertise in the specialization area. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience preparing engineering proposals and delivering presentations. * Commitment and enthusiasm for continuous learning. * Commitment to developing efficient and cost-effective designs. * Commitment to meeting assigned task schedules and budgets. * Self-discipline and ability to manage daily workloads as well as tasks assigned to support subgroups or teams. * Willingness to do what it takes to meet budgetary and scheduling commitments. * Accountability for outcomes of completed tasks. * Ability to identify early warning signs related to schedule and budget. * Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. * Ability to resolve most technical issues efficiently with minimal or no supervision, within budgetary constraints. * Active participation in project budget planning and monitoring. * Sound commercial judgment and experience expanding and developing business with new and existing clients (desirable). * Ability to lead small teams and commitment to mentoring and staff development. * Promote teamwork by keeping all team members informed about technical and personnel progress within the workgroup. * Demonstrate facilitation skills for problem resolution, engaging full team support. * Strengthen teamwork by openly and freely sharing information and knowledge. * Proven ability to manage, motivate, and influence others. * Understanding of financial reports and project budgets. * Intermediate proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications. * Strong job-specific technical computer skills. * Advanced spoken and written English (desirable). **Qualifications \- External** **About You** * Civil Engineering professional * Over 15 years of experience in civil engineering consulting and structural design * Computer Skills: + Word: Advanced + Excel: Advanced + PowerPoint: Advanced + AutoCAD: Intermediate + MS Project: Basic + SAP 2000: Advanced + ETABS: Advanced + SAFE: Advanced + Strand 7: Advanced (desirable) + RAM CONNECTION or IDEA STATICA * At least 2 years of experience in similar roles (desirable). * Prior experience in supervisory functions related to operations or research activities within the industry. * Advanced knowledge of engineering design standards and codes, such as ACI, AISC, ASCE, API, among others. * Participation in project design reviews. * Knowledge of various project development phases: Order of Magnitude (OoM), Prefeasibility Study (PFS), Feasibility Study (FS), and execution processes. * Practical knowledge of trend/change management. * At least one-time participation as a member of a CAPEX review team for a project at PFS or FS stage (required). * Knowledge and user-level proficiency in engineering software relevant to the specialty. * Cost estimation knowledge. * Experience participating in or leading risk management workshops, such as HAZOP, HAZID, risk analysis, etc. * Participation in CAPEX and project scheduling development.
