Identification of anomalies and prevention of failures in electrical equipment. **Brief Job Description:** **Job Summary / Electrical Technician** The data center electrical technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and ensuring the continuous operation of various electrical power systems within the data center (e.g., UPSs, generators, batteries, transformers, electrical panels, etc.) to prevent data center downtime. **Responsibilities** * Perform daily inspections and report the status and performance of electrical equipment, e.g., batteries, lighting fixtures, variable frequency drives (VFDs), chargers, rectifiers, UPSs, PDUs, PPCs, PDMs, TVSS, STS, transformers, cells, electric meters, SPT. Also inspect mechanical equipment when required. * Supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance activities for the electrical system, UPS system, rectifiers, transformers, cells, electrical panels, structured cabling system, fire detection systems (Simplex panels), lighting systems, CCTV, VFD systems, grounding systems, bus ducts, rack PDUs, and related or assigned tasks by supervisors. * Identify anomalies and prevent failures of electrical equipment. * Operate electrical equipment during incidents to maintain service continuity. * Respond immediately to any interruption, malfunction, or incident and report the status to the monitoring specialist. * Lead and execute electrical installation activities following installation protocols and handover procedures to end users. * Supervise proper energization of IT equipment to maintain reliability of redundant systems. * Record performed activities, inspections, and repairs in the logbooks for each equipment or area as applicable. * Ensure uninterrupted and safe operation of the data center’s electrical systems. * Conduct electrical availability and space validation for future IT equipment installations and report any anomalies that fail to meet standards. * Supervise vendor work conducted within the data center facilities. * Ensure installations comply with applicable electrical and safety regulations. * Update single-line electrical diagrams, schematics, etc. * Supervise and/or execute preventive maintenance and installation activities for the structured cabling system. * Supervise correct connection of UTP/FO cables while maintaining polarity. * Provide support for electrical cable connection/disconnection during incidents or maintenance, always reporting to the monitoring specialist, supervisor, and site manager. * Prepare technical reports. * Supervise equipment entry/exit from the data center. * Support activities performed by the electromechanical specialist. * Perform high-altitude work during specialized maintenance. * Comply with regulations, policies, procedures, work instructions, and other applicable requirements for the position. * Participate in and complete scheduled training programs, including mandatory certifications where applicable. * Understand environmental, occupational health, and safety risks and comply with respective operational controls. * Actively participate in scheduled emergency drills. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Required/ Minimum Qualifications:** * Academic background: Certified technical professional in electrical, electronics, electrotechnology, or industrial fields, fully dedicated to operations. * Minimum 4 years of experience in maintenance, supervision, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment such as UPSs, rectifiers, batteries, transfer panels, transformers, etc. **Additional / Preferred Qualifications:** * AutoCAD. * All Office 365 applications. * Operation and maintenance of UPSs, diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, rectifiers, transformers, motors, electric pumps, etc. * Thermographic analysis. * Power quality analysis. * Electrical insulation and lighting analysis. **Complementary Skills** * Teamwork. * Personnel development. * Planning and organization. * Problem solving. * Decision making. * Effective communication. **Time Travel Needed:** * None
